Crusader Royal Couhig is a vastly experienced lawyer.
You’d think he has all the angles covered.

Like Bearwood? Apologies couldn’t help myself! I suspect the departure of Azeez was known about at the end of last season, given what looked like his emotional fair well after the Blackpool home game. I suspect he would’ve been off somewhere much sooner if we haven’t been such a shitshow behind the scenes.

fred sharpes nose
traff If the sign-off, from the odious leech that is Die Young, has not been done. Do we assume that he or his toady lackey Pang has agreed to the sale of Azeez?

Makes you wonder - Dai always gambling or trying to get one over on people.

If Couhig hasn't sanctioned this and its just Dai/Pang trying to squeeze some extra cash into their pockets then I would fear that the takeover will fall through - or at least extend while they argue the toss about a reduced price.

Crazy coz I was reliably informed in the summer we turned down a £1.5 deal for Azeez

Could it come down to the clauses. A lot of Championship transfers are announced as an 'up to' fee, with the biggest clause to get to that maximum being promotion. It could've been we were offered £750k up front and £750k after promotion, for example, whilst we wanted £1m guaranteed. Will be interesting to see what the fee ends up being reported as.

"significant" according to RFC but who knows what that actually means.

@RichCawleySLP: "#Millwall confirm the signing of Reading winger Femi Azeez.

Fee undisclosed but believed to be in the region of £1million."

Guy seems to be a South London Press journo, so probably fairly accurate.

1 Million is good business and exactly how we need to operate in the future to be able to sustain ourselves as a club and to help fund the Academy.
The crazy thing about the transfer is the timing especially regarding the takeover of the club and who has sanctioned the move? Is it the old regime or the new one? and does it have any bearing on the takeover?
If we get to tomorrow night or Friday with still no news on the takeover i fear a meltdown may be on the horizon!!

Great business with 9 months left on his contract. We're a selling club again. Get over it, and we move on.

That £1m fee will hopefully be in addition to a sell on. Hopefully he'll kick on and we'll have further income from this transfer in the future.

It would be interesting to know who sanctioned it. I can't imagine Dai, Pang or any of the directors would care, Bowen's suspended and the coaching staff don't deal with that sort of thing anymore. Would it be the CFO (Graham Odell according to the website)? Brian Carey as head of recruitment?

Bowen should be back at work, unless he's been given some time off to sort himself out.

BBC The 60-year-old was given a 12-week ban, beginning on 17 July, eight weeks of which are suspended until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Shame but it's good money for a club in our position.

Academy lads who go to Millwall have a pretty good record - Henderson, Henry, Karacan, Cooper and Pearce come to mind.

Player wants out. Might as well take the money.
