Mid Sussex Royal Isn’t there a Thai flag flying above it?

Couhig has met all back office staff today btw

Yes there is, noticed it for the first time yesterday evening.

Hotel snag hits potential rescue deal for beleaguered Reading FC
By:Matt Hughes

A dispute over the voco Reading hotel is further delaying a possible takeover of the club
The long-running takeover saga at Reading has been further delayed by a dispute over the status of an IGH hotel at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Former Wycombe owner Rob Couhig has agreed a £25m deal to buy the League One club that also includes the stadium and the training ground, thus ending the disastrous ownership of Chinese businessman Dai Yongge, but the voco Reading hotel is causing complications.

...

Article doesn't appear to actually say anything about what this supposed snag is.

If this is true then I'm not sure how Couhig and co can have concluded everything at their end as he supposedly previously stated. Or did they think the deal was done and were relying on Dai to sort out any issues regarding the hotel.

The snag is apparently over the status of the hotel which suggests no-one's quite sure who does actually own it or what the demarcation is between club and hotel property. This is all something the lawyers on both sides should have identified and sorted a long time ago.

I am not saying you’re wrong but do you know this for sure or are you just surmising? James Earnshaw has said it’s nothing to do with the hotel.

It was from a BS source online. Dai/RFC do not own the Hotel, so it's totally irrelevant.

I'm not saying it's impossible: I've worked for some major multi-nationals and they're as full of fùck-ups as anywhere else. But what you're buying, and hence where the dividing land of any property with any adjacent property, would be dealt with early on. If Couhig said it was happening today and now it hasn't, it really shouldn't be anything other than minor snag.

This is surely bullshit. If you can learn something from a message board or Twitter, why is due diligence with legal and accounting firms only throwing it up now.? Dai does not own the hotel. Surely Couhig knows this?

The more feasible scenario is that the article is bullshit.

Yep we are all aware of this article. I’m looking for the bit where it says no-one knows who owns it and what relationship the hotel has to the club. Could you tell me where you got that but if information from?

I mean who the oxf*rd are city fm what track record have they got in unearthing scoops? The article has already be debunked on here as utter bullshit. And do you really think, you can’t be that thick, that a man who has been around football for as long he has plus being a top lawyer has got this far down the negotiating path and not know who the fcuk owns the hotel? As I say your scaremongering. You’ve read a shit article for some nomark a come to the conclusion that no one knows who owns the hotel? Twat

All going to be tight for loan signings at least but would hope, and rumours suggest we are, actively talking to other clubs and possibly moving deals along so that as soon as we get the OK, all that is needed is to file the paperwork.

As soon as JE virtually confirmed yesterday that it’s Dai holding up proceedings I thought this won’t be happening. All we can do is wait and see.
