My final estimate for the number of tickets sold is 634, but the club are saying over 700 will be travelling up for this.

Anyone know when we last had a 9 point week? It wouldn't surprise me if it over 5 years ago.

Possibly Pauno’s start to the season?

It won’t happen I doubt. Can see us getting a beating from horrible Steve Evans and co

August 2022 was the last time we won 3 in a row, but that was over 10 days:

17/08/22 - Blackburn (h) - 3-0
20/08/22 - Middlesborough (h) - 1-0
27/08/22 - Millwall (a) - 1-0

Last time we won 3 games in the span of a week - February/March 2021:

27/02/21 - Rotherham (a) - 1-0
02/03/21 - Blackburn (h) - 1-0
06/03/21 - Sheffield Wednesday (h) - 3-0

Reading's big issue with winning 3 league games in a row now, is that at least one win will have to be away from home :o

Tbf, our away record at the back end of last season did improve, and our opening 3 this season have been as hard as possible on paper. I don't see away games as an automatic loss now.

Rotherham's last gasp win at Cambridge on Tuesday was their first away win in 41 league matches, a run stretching back 693 days to November 2022. Obviously a much better team at home and they could be a lot more confident after having finally ended that hoodoo.

Still quietly confident of that 3rd successive league win for us though.

I can't believe we'll make this 3 on the spin, away at Rotherham. We're not playing particularly well, and I can't see them giving us the freedom of the park like Burton did.

You can rely on Rotherham to be physical and spoil, and we struggle with that.

At best a draw for me, and I'd be mighty happy with that.

Too many big defeats away at Rov’rum still burn deep in the memory for me.

0-4 to avenge them

This will we a difficult test! Rotherham will play a very physical/bruising style of play, whilst half our squad aren't even men yet......so yeah personally a draw will be a great result and a fine end to a 7 point week :D

However, football is a funny old game and this team of youngsters are creating something special under the current circumstances they find themselves in. IF this team can make it a 9 point week with the current backdrop going on behind them we would really have to stand up and applaud Selles and the players for their mental strength more than anything and it would be a truly special feat.

Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Dean come in for this and MBengue play left back.

Shouldn't be any excuses, Selles knows from last season what to expect from Evans' teams.

Selles sees Garcia as a first team player https://rdg.today/we-see-him-as-a-first ... nage-star/

If he isn’t injured I would expect him to start again

He is a first team player. That doesn't mean he should be over exposed and start every game. Look at how Carson went.

Away at Rotherham with an under pressure Evans in charge, four days after he made his debut start playing 90 minutes is just an unnecessary amount of pressure and risk for a 16 year old.

We need to stiffen the team up for a physical battle.

That means for me:

.....................Button
Craig, Mbengue, Bindon, Abrefa
.......................Wing
Campbell, Knibbs, Savage, Ehibhatiomhan
.......................Smith

Yeah, he hasn't played very well for a few games, he struggles more in physical games, is less quick and strong in the press and challenge than Savage. He's lost the ball a fair bit. He's our most frequently dispossessed player and top 3 for unsuccessful touches. And he's in our most competitive position for places in the side.

It's not a rare view to think Savage is worth a place, and it's always going to Elliott's of the three currently there

Got in the ground and it turns out Rotherham have given us different blocks than the ones we were given tickets for
