AthleticoSpizz Yes, obviously.

‘Flattered to deceive’ at Swansea on loan before us (5 in 7)

Thrown-in as our only outlet from being a Newcastle bit-parter, never had the chance to be “one for the future” at our level…….which turned out to be the correct decision to offload as it has proven.

Not quite the joke donkey as portrayed tho’

Always remember that he at least put the effort in, OK he wasn't quite good enough but you couldn't really fault him on trying his best for the team when he played.

Motm Leroy Lita scores the winning goal for new team Barwell against one of his ex teams Stratford Town in the FA Trophy (NL crossover)….

Is Leroy the last of our 2005/2006 squad still playing at any credible level?

As predicted Ovie Ejaria goes on to bigger and brighter things.

Ovie Ejaria is on trial at Egyptian side Zamalek where José Gomes is manager!

Alex Pearce signs for Leatherhead

I'm going to have to get myself down to Fetcham Grove, only a 20 min walk from home.

Probably not too much of a surprise, Bracknell seem to be a bit of a sinking ship at the moment after their their recent achievements. Owner decided to sell up so have new owners, still without any sight of getting back to a home ground in Bracknell, manager quit, top striker then left and cup competitions have been a total disaster this season after 2/3 seasons of excelling. Probably just stuff that they'll eventually overcome but seen these things multiply rapidly esp. in non league.

quite a bit!

Most games he's managed for anyone club is 72. He's only gone past 40 for two clubs

He's actually enjoying his most successful year after 20+ years of management.

A career that has taken him from Al Ahli to Zamalek? Nice.

African equivalent of the Europa League and Super Cup there - very impressive.

I’m assuming Gomes isn’t married/has kids etc? Just loves trying different experiences etc. fair play if so, must have been a very interesting life

This is impressive though. Just the 7 jobs since leaving us 5 years ago.

You know how on Wikipedia, some bands have a separate page for their discography, I'm surprised Gomes doesn't have a separate page for his managerial career

Thoughts with ex-Royal Sam Baldock on the dreadful news of the death of his brother at 31.

...more upbeat ... Gylfi!! 8) .... (* had trouble getting that past autocorrect  )

...came on as a v.late sub vs Wales tonight but didn't quite get the run of the ball.
They were obviously trying to get him in possession close to goal in the last 10'.
- terrific game - not sure if Wales tired or just got complacent with a two goal lead ...but Iceland put in a great shift 2nd half and were perhaps a bit unfortunate not to nick a win.

Interview with Ryan Gravenberch in the Guardian places a heavy emphasis on his relationship with Danzell and mentions us in passing:
