Sanguine Stones goal was rightfully allowed with respect to whether Silva, in an offside position, was impeding the keeper's view. But ffs, when is PGMOL going to crack down on impeding a keeper's movement? It was a clear foul.

If that was a Wolves goal against City it would have been ruled out.

I checked the 'alt-universe computer' and it turns out it wasn't

...not sure where that leaves you!

Referees and "the game" as a whole doesn't stand a chance. Even in the clearest incidents there are huge divisions amongst fans and pundits as demonstrated here. Even allowing for bias, you see fans of all pursuasions bickering over whether it was a foul, goal, offside, penalty etc.

I can't remember it being as bad as this, and can only assume it's VAR and the now expected continual obsession with isolated incidents in games. This lasts for the entire week, on every show, repeated replays of the single second of a game.

disagree

Silva was not challenging for the ball. As the corner is delivered he steps back into the goalkeeper, he pushes his body weight into him, impeding him. It's a clear foul.

Clearly a foul for me, but City only put one man on the keeper, Arsenal would have had 3 or 4 blocking him.

Something needs to be done.

Whole thing needs to be looked at. You regularly see attackers being “ungentlemanly” and pulling, blocking and giving defenders little option yet that gets “overlooked” a lot of time, yet if defenders try something along the same lines they get penalised. While it’s great to see wonderful attacking play the authorities seem to forget that defending is also an “art” and should be allowed to flourish and not killed off by all the damn silly “anti defensive” laws that keep getting inflicted on teams. There’s nothing wrong with good tackling and being able to play without having to hold your hands behind your back in case the latest cr@p from IFAB catches you out.

I just learned that Chris Wood (2 goals tonight for Forest) played in the PL for West Brom 16 seasons ago

So sad for Charlton. Looking forward to Reading failing to do the same on time when Phil brings his boys to town.

VVD kicks Havertz twice off the ball,no card, Diaz kicks the ball away after conceding a free kick, no card, Raya delays a goal kick and is shown a yellow.
Disallowed goal could have gone either way, but the fact no Liverpool players appealed and Taylor didn`t blow until Havertz lobbed the keeper must make the gunners fans think there is a clear agenda.

whoever ref the commentator went to during the game said that this one didn't actually delay anything so no card was correct

It was Mike Dean, he said there wasn`t a quick free kick to be taken to which the commentator replied that Trossard would like a word.

Guardiola notes that City are down to 'around 13 players'. Which is hilarious. And of course all the big clubs moan a bit when they have injuries. But I think it noteworthy the relative lack of trust Guardiola seems to have in his younger players. He has brought a couple through - but when Klopp was faced with an injury crisis he turned to the likes of Elliott and Bradley and Morton and others, and with some success. Time for Pep to do the same, if his squad really is so thin.
