Pepe the Horseman Wtf has happened to Bolton? Best team we played last season.

Don't know. They don't seem to have lost too many of their regulars from last season and made signings.

Their forum seems to suggest they got found out towards the end of last season. I had a look at they've won eight of their last twenty-four league games (9 of 27 including the play-offs); only six (or eight, with play-offs) defeats in that time though - a lot of draws.

They only lost three league games at home last season, plus the play-off game, and are at two already this season.

One of those all fur coat and no knickers teams.

When it's going well they're all hints of sexy cleavage going forwards, but if you lift the hem and expose their defence, they're wide open.

I think that means they like you.

Wrexham look terrible. I can't stand Birmingham, or their odious fans.

I only really saw the first 20 minutes of the second half but Birmingham should have had 5 in that spell rather than just the 2 they did get. Wrexham kept giving the ball away in their own half and then resorted to hacking.

I didn't realise Lyndon Dykes played for Birmingham now. Is there no FFP any more?

They've been a Jude Bellingham away from destroying FFP for the past 5 years. I reckon they need back to back promotions to avoid falling foul of it because spending £30m in the summer summer isn't really sustainable in the Championship, let alone League 1.

Is it 3 times they broke the League 1 transfer record this summer?

As someone said before we played Brum first game of the season, that was a good time to play them; I can't see anyone other than them winning L1.

Probably the biggest threat to 106 this season.

Steve Bruce will not be in attendance at tomorrow's fixture between Blackpool and Barnsley due to the tragic passing of his four-month old grandson, Madison.

I'm not often moved to disgust by the trivialities of how people choose to engage with football, but if true, this is an absolute aberration.

Great club, proper stadium, knowledgable and passionate supporters, badly let down by their marketing department on this one.

I'd be annoyed if we did that for Barcelona, let alone Wrexham.

That's a worse outrage than Trump winning the Presidency.

Birmingham are running away at the top as predicted, but other than that it looks wide open. I expected Rotherham, Bolton and Huddersfield to fight it out for second, with Blackpool and Barnsley hovering around the edge, plus perennial L1 play off chasers Peterborough.

Huddersfield and Barnsley are knocking around the fringes without looking like serious contenders, while the others mentioned are way off. Instead we have the likes of Mansfield, Exeter, Wycombe and Wrexham. While Wrexham have the money and the story, the backbone of this squad remains the one built to win the NL. I expect they will make the Championship soon, but I predicted a couple of seasons consolidation in L1 before the next push, so they are a surprise package for me too.

I would put ourselves in the surprise package too. Better starting XI than those sides mentioned, but paper thin squad and off pitch issues still not resolved. I expect a few of us surprise packages will fall away, but it's looking like one of us may have the chance to do someone special with a bit of luck.

If Birmingham were running away with the division would they not be further ahead of the rest ?

Fair, I think at one point yesterday they were going 5 clear which is a lot in October, but it's only 3 which is one game.

I also under sold Bolton in my original analysis. They're 2 points off 6th and 6 points off 2nd after an awful start, on a run of W5, D1, L1 (with the loss at Birmingham). Still a good bet in my view.
