windermereROYAL Gave up watching at the 4th goal, you lot must be gluttons for punishment.

I'm not pussying out just because we're losing. Especially when we still don't know the club's long term future prospects.

WestYorksRoyal Don't get carried away after a few wins, don't overreact to one poor day at the office.

Stockport have played well and thoroughly deserve the win. Credit to them. We’ve looked physically weak tonight, made mistakes and I guess a few things didn’t quite go our way

Just one to move on from. Not a suprise and not really learned anything new

Any chance Stockport have used too many subs and we get the game awarded to us?

I do wonder if Selles gets an easy ride for our away results due to the young squad and situation of the club, and his general likeability and connection with the fans. We're so open and we only know one way to play. When our press doesn't work teams just walk through our midfield.

The club's situation is a fair mitigating excuse and I don't think you can pin it on him. I'm just curious whether being able to make signings would make us noticeably better.

I say we sack Selles, sell the whole first team in January, and use Dai's millions + Kia + Chelsea loans to buy a new squad.

With the squad we have just don’t think we have a lot of options

He prob does get a bit of an easy ride and the difference between our incredible home and dire away form is a headscratcher. Still doing far better than we’ve any right to be

There's a general feeling that if we can only get a takeover done and build on our squad we can be a real force in this division. But Selles would be judged by a different standard. We would not shake off a performance like this as a "game too far", even though that is a fair excuse in the circumstance.

It seems a bit of a trend under Selles but we have lots of good performances and then a truly horrific away performance every now and again. Tonight they looked like a team of strangers thrown together to play a Sunday afternoon match at short notice. I think only Pereira arguably had a good game despite letting in 4!

But we have to remember that it is a very young squad and every now and again it will just look horrid so hopefully this was just one of those nights and they will come back stronger. But we really did make Stockport look like Barcelona tonight.

I think the way we play away from home just lets teams dominate. We haven’t dominated possession at home for a while so playing the same way when away from home makes it even worse. Not saying park the bus, but at least try to make it difficult for the opposition. Opposing teams seem fitter to me as well.

Not really a head scratcher, no overnight stays and travelling on the day doesn't help.
Stockport is 4 hours on a good day.

We all go straight for the jugular and try to score quickly. I know scoring is literally the point of football, but we never seem happy to put our foot on the ball and control possession a bit. Wing in the DM role goes for Hollywood passes instead of slowing the game down. We saw it as we hung on against Exeter and Bristol Rovers.

Away from home, a bit of boring possession to take the sting out of the game and quieten the crowd is effective.

That being said, we have put in good away performances. The 1st halves at Birmingham and Exeter were close to perfection, so a high press can be effective away.

Lucky for me back in hotel room…feel for those on the buses and trains…

Whilst the Ref and Lino were atrocious, it was no excuse,

We were outmuscled from the first whistle, a non existent press just played into Stockport’s hands allowing them to grow in confidence. Sadly Garcia looked his age tonight, flashes going forwards but misjudgement and no real support , he looked visibly shaken by the penalty. Need to be careful we don’t break his confidence.

Campbell is a waste of space, as ever the team effort is there but no composure on the ball resulting in it coming straight back at us.
With this team we know we are going to get plenty of days like this, the table flatters us but we will be fine come May

Wasn’t good enough tonight. Didn’t control the midfield, allowed them to run through our defence too easily and had no real threat up top.

I think fundamentally, the shape is the issue in these games - we’re too open in midfield and the attack is too isolated.

Having two deeper midfielders and a central more attack-minded midfielder, similar to last season, may provide the solution without leading to the players having to learn an entirely new system.

A bit more rigidity in the shape is probably needed away from home as well.

I've seen it suggested that maybe the team are struggling with long journeys due to travelling up on the day, not staying at a hotel, don't know if that's true but it certainly seems like some of our worse performances have been the long treks, Wrexham, Bolton and now Stockport, whereas our 2 good away results have been relatively shorter trips to Birmingham and Exeter.
