Who would touch the club when A) there could be any number more which Dai has failed to disclose B) the creditors are overseas C) the likelihood of default is extremely high

If the loan is for the figures quoted and comes with the stadium then anyone wanting to buy the club would probably put an offer in for £30m, That is Dai pays them £30m to take it off his hands.

I still think Couhig is involved - absolutely no evidence for this but just my gut feeling

A lot of the inside stuff is probably subject to NDAs for one reason or another. From what he's saying, I don't think he's involved in any bids but he clearly knows more than us. I'd actually see him as being better informed than most outside commentators.

I think the stuff of interest probably has more to do with Dai's financial situation overall than specifically about the sale of the club and it wouldn't be surprised if it muddied the waters further regarding the ability to sell the club than creating any clarity.

M&A Murmurs

Reading are approaching crisis point as they seek the new investment required to meet their operational costs, with several sources who have knowledge of the club's finances telling FootBiz they could run out of money next month.

A £5 million loan from prospective buyer Rob Couhig was repaid by Reading owner Dai Yongge last month leaving the club short of funds to pay the wages of players and staff.

Reading have been docked a total of 18 points by the EFL over the past two seasons for the late payment of wages, and without securing fresh investment the unpalatable prospect of administration is looming large.

The club announced that they had entered exclusive negotiations with another buyer after the collapse of the proposed sale to Couhig last month, but those talks have not progressed sufficiently for the EFL to be informed as yet.
