After a rocky start to the season after a summer of almost wholesale change to the backroom and playing staff, Cheltenham are now flying.

Expecting a lot of changes from the team that beat Rotherham on Saturday. Expect the likes of Matty Taylor to start.

The big question mark is the goalkeeper. Both Owen Evans and Joe Day are injured which leaves only a 16 year old Academy player available. Could be interesting. I wonder if Joe Day might play through the pain of a bad back - he’s been sensational since coming in for Evans.

The outfield qualifying players for this one (including anyone who's injured); players in grey are duplicates:
  1. Started 40+ senior matches (10): Yiadom (485); Dean (474); Wing (229); Smith (199); Knibbs (148); Dorsett (81); Mbengue (70); Bindon (61); Savage (51); Ehibhatiomhan (45)
  2. On loan from a Premier League or EFL Cat 1 academy (1): Campbell
  3. Top ten most starts (all comps) this season (2): Bindon (14); Wing (14); Craig (13); Elliott (13); Mbengue (13); Ehibhatiomhan (12); Smith (11); Knibbs (10); Savage (10); Campbell (8)
  4. Started the previous match (6): Ahmed; Holzman; Bindon; Rushesha; Spencer; Savage; Elliott; Camara; Campbell; Wareham
Overall (19): Ahmed; Bindon; Camara; Campbell; Craig; Dean; Dorsett; Ehibhatiomhan; Elliott; Holzman; Knibbs; Mbengue; Rushesha; Savage; Smith; Spencer; Wareham; Wing; Yiadom

Compared to the originally scheduled game, Abrefa doesn't qualify this time as he didn't play in the most recent game, whilst all six who qualify due to playing on Saturday weren't qualifying players on the original date.

Surely if Ruben knows Abrefa will play on Saturday, then he can play tomorrow.

That's true (assuming he's fit). We only need four qualifying players in the squad and I imagine at least four of the players who started against Fleetwood will start anyway; he'd be fine to play regardless in that case.

So I think that means the players who have made their debut for us but aren't qualifying are CBC, Norcott, Stickland, Kanu, Abrefa, Senga, Sackey, Osho, Akande, and Tuma.

I'm pretty sure Kanu is injured, so it would be very difficult for us to not pick an eligible squad.

M4/M5 interchange is very busy (more than usual) if anyone is planning on going that way.

Good to see Stickland getting some time as been a mainstay of U21's this season.

Never heard of Barough

Joe Barough- been playing regularly for the U 21’s this season. Scored plenty of goals for the U 18’s but not quite made the transition to U 21 football successfully yet.

He scored 10 in 21 for the U18s last season.

How long is the ref going to allow the Cheltenham keeper to hold on to the ball? He held it closer to 60 seconds rather than 6 seconds there.

Osho out paces a Cheltenham defender who, after realising he's in trouble, going back towards his own goal, dives and is given a free kick by the gullible referee.

Not a great watch is it, Button nearly gifts them a goal, should have scored.

Painful watch. For us it’s like a trial match. No cohesion or quality going forward. Som nice touches from Barough. Still waiting to see what Tuma can make of the opportunity to play CF.

The shape has been:

Button
Ahmed - Stickland - Holzman - Rushesha
Sackey - Spencer - Barough
Akande - Tuma - Osho

Dealt with most thing defensively, but they’ve had the two best chances - Button nearly chipped and they hit the post.

Overplaying up top. Tuma took far too long with his best opening, had two or three chances to shot before passing out of play. Very hit and miss in possession: sometimes we’re passing the ball around well and other times we’re failing to complete simple balls.

Hopefully we can improve in the second half.
