Ah, well that'll be why I didn't see anything! No surprise really, only surprise that he agreed to it in the first place.

I was surprised to see he was doing it, but I think the lawyer has provided the correct advice.

It was just such a stupid idea, no surprise it's fallen through.

Chance to give the “Leeds, Leeds, Leeds” man a grilling about any of your perceived issues with BBC Berks coverage…. :?

I'm so not surprised about this.

I guess he and his lawyers will be angling for what used to be called a compromise agreement. The club give him some money to save the hassle of a tribunal he might win. He accepts less than he would win, but doesn't run the risk of losing a tribunal and getting nothing.

Invariably one of the clauses of such agreements is "don't say anything nasty about us and don't give any secrets away."

If I was being really cynical, I would say his agreement to appear was only ever as leverage in his negotiations.

Pretty much nail on head in all respects IMO.

Our dodgy owners may be so scared of what he might reveal that they will offer him a settlement agreement to buy his silence even if he had practically zero chance of winning any dismissal case (which, given the known circumstances, would be my assessment of the odds, unless those handling his dismissal had completely messed up the process).

Agree - his defence looks weak if the case is as was reported, ie betting on league one games when here and at Wimbledon when they were in L1, this must be classed as gross misconduct, and also a second offence.

Unless it's been reported elsewhere I seem to recall there being some speculation over who actually fired him.

We're told Couhig's mob were making decisions around this time (The folding of the women's team was alleged to be their decision) and their money was financing the club so it may be that they did the deed and Bowen is contesting the legitimacy.
