South Coast Royal Watched the game as a neutral along with a Chelsea fan.
Man Utd currently look no better than any side in 13th position with so little drive about them.

IMHO Chelsea should have won easily but , I am informed, they play well every week up to and around the penalty area but often fail to create a chance.

Caicedo now looks the player he was at Brighton but Casamiro looks the player that Real Madrid were only too happy to get rid of ( for the sort of money that clubs paid for Isak, Palmer and Harland), something that presumably could happen soon to Rashford, a mere shadow of his former self.

I watched the first half and then went to the shops. It says something when Chelsea are the team trying to play football. Not sure who in the Premier League genuinely entertain any more. It's probably me but top flight football nowadays leaves me fairly cold.

Just listen to and read a lot of euro football stuff and for the past 3-4 years he consistently gets raved about. Mainly his attacking style, but also his no nonsense taking from players.

Also, people often think Portugal has 3 big clubs, but it doesn't, it has 2 big clubs and Sporting, who are kind of a half big club.

What he did there was genuinely really very special. Not only are they the lesser of those 3 clubs by some way, who hadn't won the league in 20 years, but they were also still recovering from the financial effecfs of the incident where the fans invaded the training ground, attacked the players, and the players tore up their contracts and left.

In his first season he wins them the league. Last season wins them the league again. Right now they are top of the league.

If i could take my pick of any manager on the continent to take over my messy underperforming squad, give them a kick up the backside and get them doing what they should be doing, then Amorim would be that person.

(He also loves touchline shenanigans & bust ups so some value for us neutrals too!)

Disagree, his record is better IMO.

His record is not better

I'm happy to define hipster manager as 'one likely to turn up for work on a skateboard'

Disagree. One took over a massive outsider for the league, with no league success in 20 years, who had gone through an appalling financial situation, the other took over the biggest club in the Netherlands who had just missed out on the league title by a single point

They both had success, but where their respective clubs were when they took over them was incomparable

I'm curious to know what "success" looks like and what the timeframe is for the new guy.

Winning Trophies or does it have to be the right trophies?

Qualifying for the Champions League or winning it?

Competing for the Premier League or winning it?

Does he get a year, 2 or maybe 3 to achieve any of this?

FWIW he looks like a very good appointment to me but I'm wondering what he has to do in the first year/18 months to stop the knives coming out.
