Clyde1998 Mbengue booked - so suspended for Barnsley.

Here for the next page in the Harlee Dean redemption story.

Is he fit, not even on the bench.

Mbengue looks to be getting pills from the bench - painkillers presumably.

Hound Yep probably backs to the wall all second - glad I’m not watching

Birmingham losing to Shrewsbury has also made my day (in a football context anyway)

Birmingham down to 4th as it stands. Have games in hand I know, but it shouldn't even be a contest for 1st place. Not sure what it means for them if they stay down.

I still think they'll win the league, but any risk of the points record going is reducing by the week. I'm sure they'll be financially impacted by not going up, but shouldn't be too much of an issue should their owners keep funding them.

Ruben said he was on Thursday. Would be bold to throw Kanu in at Barnsley.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dorsett shifts to left centre-back, with Garcia coming back in at left-back.

Yeah, more likely than Kanu I would say.

Big moment from Pereira to keep at 2-0 at the end. Great keeper at this level

I've been wondering where to post this but I was finally getting around to reading an old copy of FourFourTwo this week (Nov 2021 I think) and there was Best/Worst article from a Hearts fan who picked out Pereira as their worst player of all time from a loan period during his time at Man Ure. "Hands like papadums" apparently. It made me wonder if that young goalie we had from Everton on loan recently that barely got a game might come good one day...

Could well do. It's not that he was actually that bad, it's that he was totally out of his depth, way too young and inexperienced for the role and looked terrified.

Tbf, Pereira was on loan to Hearta from Man Utd. He's a good L1 keeper, but nothing more, so it's relative under achievement.

No sign of sitting deep. We should have a 3rd.

It's possible - although he'd have to actually play some matches at some point. I think he was only brought in because he was the cheapest option whilst we had an embargo, he obviously fell out of the side once Rafael was signed; we did still have Sam Walker at the time though, who was better than Virginia at that point, and a 22-year old Luke Southwood waiting for his first start. They must've thought he was better than he actually turned out to be.

Hopefully a certain young keeper currently at Reading can have a redemption arc.

Mbengue's hobbling about. I would though my earlier suggestion of Dorsett to left centre-back and Garcia at left-back was about to occur, but seems Kanu is coming on!

Mbengue's suspension could be good for him. He seems to have been playing through the pain with injuries for most of the season. Albeit probably milking it for time killing at points. Really needs a break. Alhough again, how much this is time wasting and how much genuine is not clear.

Kanu coming on.

Sod! Mbengue is the only one who can catch Jade-Jones! Kanu not been the greatest in games I’ve seen.

Big moment for Kanu. I'm not convinced he's ready, but he's what we have.

Should be 3, straight at the keeper with a free header from Smith

Savage's energy in midfield has been fantastic today. He's been great. I would say my MotM so far. Just keeps running, always chasing back hard. Closing down.

Well defended by Kanu

He's admitted himself that he didn't play well, particularly in a 5-0 thrashing at Ibrox and another 5-0 thrashing at Parkhead after which he was eventually dropped.

However, Hearts were absolutely shite that season all over the park, scoring less than a goal a game and getting relegated. He was an easy scapegoat, being a loan player from a bit club.

Savage does seem very inconsistent, but he's one of our best players on his day.

I expected an onslaught, but we've had all the chances this half. They have barely laid a glove on us.

Still plenty of time to mess it up, but would be a massive example of throwing a game we deserved to win.
