Clyde1998 I expected a maximum of two points from these two away games. Having already got three, I feel it's a bit of a free hit. A draw would be a very good result for us.

Yep, if you offered me 0-0 right now, I'd bight your hand off.

Sort of, Posh seemed a near certain defeat, but this one does seem pretty winnable.

So L it is.

I'm going W tomorrow then shock L to Cambridge. We haven't had a horror result since Orient, so perhaps we're due one.

Cambridge are on a bit of a run, so wouldn't be a huge surprise.

DL would be a bit of a comedown from the Posh win!

Mr Angry Another midweek away trip.

3 days after the last game (and an away one as well).

Terrible journey up on the day due to funding issues.

Very young defensive line

Even younger bench.

If we were offered a point right now, I would take it.

There are no funding issues in this respect, the club have been travelling and staying over on away games for most of this year. Wing confirmed they’ll be going up today and staying over in his after match interview with dim on Saturday.

Thanks for the update Sutekh - I didn't know that.

Looks like it will be our worst away following since Middlesbrough in 2021-22 (approx 200). Rearranged midweek games in Yorkshire are always going to be poorly attended though - doesn't help we can watch it on TV.

I watched a bit of a Barnsley game the other week and they played free-flowing football and looked likely promotion material.
It looks however as though they are a bit erratic, particularly managing to lose to a rather moderate Wigan last Saturday.

Let's hope, like with Peterborough, they are not on one of their going days.

I was not expecting Holzman to come in; he wasn't even in the squad on Saturday.

According to Live Text on BBC, the match has already been postponed?

Well that's a slap in Kanu's face. And an odd choice given how favoured Garcia was with Dorsett being a CB.

Is Dean out of favour? Selles said he was fit after the international break.

But the question he answered was 'which Reading player would you bone.'

I imagine Selles is simply giving opportunities to young players, as Dean isn't going to be at the club beyond the summer. I think I heard he's effectively acting as a coach at the moment.

Still odd that he'd put in place his 6th? choice centreback though...

He didn't even start for the U21s on Friday night, which was my first thought: Selles wanted him playing matches rather than being on the bench.

To be fair, I would've thought Holzman would've been closer to the first team than Kanu at the end of last season.

I remember Mark Holzman being thrown in for his debut away at Man City and he did well (McGhee the manager?).
Let's hope this one does just as well.

I've not seen much of Holzman, whereas Kanu impressed me in pre season and most importantly, did well off the bench at the weekend.

I just don’t get the management decision to put him on the bench ahead of Holzman. Bring him on instead of moving Dorsett to CB and bringing on Garcia and then basically dumping him back to the bench for someone with no more experience. Has Holzman even made a league debut?

Clyde1998 I was not expecting Holzman to come in; he wasn't even in the squad on Saturday.

He travelled and was the spare man( in case of injury before the start) he was warming up with the other subs.

Odd he's not been on the bench, with Kanu being allowed to play at U21 level. I noticed Holzman travelled to Stockport, but wasn't on the bench either.
