Yep so we can probably assume the November HMRC payment, due last Friday, was paid as we'd be on the EFL embargo list otherwise.

We were le to believe, by Howe I think, that we had enough money from Olise, or wherever, until mid November so the real acid test of where things are will be the wages payment on Friday.

I believe Howe's statement was based on there being no outside funding of the club.

Given the club are under exclusivity with another buyer, it's possible there's no current monetary issues - although that exclusivity falling through could quite quickly cause problems.

Are they really though?

I don’t think so after that statement!

Last January, the sales didn't leave us much worse off on the pitch. Not sure how we pull of that trick this time.

Agree, there's no slack in the squad now. If we lose Bindon, Garcia and say one other regular we will be really short on numbers. As I said above luckily we have a cushion this season (subject to no points deductions).

Can't see it being more than 2. Garcia would be a huge loss for the future, but he's not playing that much, and both Yiadom and Abrefa are due back in Dec/Jan. So certainly not a huge loss to the current first XI.

Bindon is a very big loss. But, both Holzman and Kanu have just played well in the first team, we have Dean. Possibly Dorsett. There's also young prospects in John Clarke, and Stickland. And a sale may permit a loan.

I honestly don't see it transforming our season. It might be the difference between 9th and 15th, but that's much of a muchness.

Clyde1998 https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2024/november/28/club-statement---further-update-on-club-sale/

Reading Football Club would like to provide an update following the club's last formal communication on 7th October 2024.

In the previous statement it was confirmed negotiations had begun with a party looking to purchase the club, this process remains ongoing. The transaction has proved to be a complicated and lengthy process, however despite these obstacles, both the selling and buying parties remain committed to complete at the earliest opportunity.

While discussions remain ongoing, the day-to-day operations remain in place with the club navigating cashflow challenges to meet its obligations. Full focus will remain on operating as prudently as possible until the sale is completed to new investors who can take the club forward.

The club understands our supporters' eagerness for a resolution to the ongoing sales process. We are committed to providing updates when substantive information is available, or at least monthly until the sales process is complete.

Hadn't seen that, and couldn’t see anything on the website when you mentioned it.

Paving the way for the shit to hit the fan.

Well as said many times wouldn’t be the worst thing as long as it got rid of Dai

Everything just boils down to getting rid of him. If we went into admin we’d have loads of interest from buyers

The club don't give updates for the fun of it. They've got previous for putting statements out before bad news lands to get out ahead of it, so tomorrow could be interesting.

It’s vaguely in response to Couhig

It says nothing and is basically pointless. Not reading anything into it at all really

I feel we`re losing more and more loyal long term fans after every club statement, it`s really draining. hope I don`t sound too angry folks but it`s the truth.

It says two things.

Previously the statement said this alleged new buyer was in exclusivity, it only says negotiations are ongoing now.

Secondly it previously said the new buyer was providing funding. Now it says the club are navigating cashflow issues.

The last time they talked about cashflow we spent the next six months not paying anything on time.

There's no point analysing that statement for any meaning. No one at the club knows what Dai is doing.

This statement is so helpful. It tells us that there is a club for sale, that some people are talking about the buying and selling of it, that in case supporters don't know running a football club costs money and that some unidentified people are currently paying bills on behalf of the club. Rubbing my hands at the prospect of another such statement in a month's time. Perhaps in the form of a Chairman's Xmas Message? In the meantime, how do we get these oxf*rd oxf*rds out of our club?

It doesn’t explicitly say we’re not in exclusivity any more (do they have to make public if we aren’t?)

Anyway as said by EPR no point in analysing it really

Not sure how you would class fans as loyal if they stop supporting the team, to be honest if you can't be a fan to a group of talent young players giving their all on the pitch, I'm not sure you could class yourself as loyal! Whilst everything off the pitch is a complete $hit show, this team deserve all the support we can give them (whilst we still have a club)

I’m surprised everyone is so calm today

It’s a statement confirming cash flow issues the day before pay day during the month we’ve been told money will run out

Hopefully we get confirmation wages have been paid ASAP today

It's not unexpected, the wheels have been likely to fall off since Couhig's takeover collapsed.

After years of this shit not a lot moves the dial
