LUX Glen Murray commentating on 5live. Everybody has a “cultured” foot, or, in exceptional cases, is a “cultured” footballer. Twenty times so far, mid second half.

He is also announced as the “ex Palace and Brighton” player

Didn't he only do about half a season for us?

joint top scorer.

lol.

Did well but Palace manager at the time, Alan Pardew, “supposedly” went back on an agreement to let him sign permanently in the January because Murray had done well.

Sad news about Callum Harriot....has left York City to be closer to his family as his partner has breast cancer.

That's sad.

It was a shame he didn't make it here. Obviously didn't recover to the same level after his injury in the fogged off game against Fulham.

Talking of Chelsea. Cesare Casadei sent off in their Europa Conference League match.

iirc, he preceded big Marcus's loan spell, going off injured in a one on one in a home game and was never seen again….seemed decent enough.

History records that…

Ben Roberts joined on loan from Charlton in January 2002. He was standing in for Whtehead during injury and replaced Hahnemann after his loan finished. He played 6 times and finished on the winning side v Wigan, Notts County, Blackpool and Colchester before a draw v Bury and a defeat at Brighton in his final match before never being seen again.

For the record Hahnemann arrived on loan from Fulham just before Xmas in 2001 and also played 6 games; Wigan, Cardiff, Wrexham, Port Vale, QPR, and Huddersfield.

Meanwhile Jamie Ashdown had filled in for Chesterfield at home then in LDV and FA Cup games. All three games were lost alarmingly, for which he seems have taken the rap, and then Marcus arrived to take up residence.

Andy Hughes is the 1st Team coach at Leicester City, and part of the interim management team until Ruud Van Nistleroy takes over, after which time he will no doubt be fired as the new Manager brings in his own people.....

I reckon he's the sort of player who would make a good coach.

Hard worker, not blessed with special talent, who grafted his way to where he got. Scored goals from midfield. Had to adapt to playing on the left crossing with his weaker foot and then I believe later in his career transitioned into defence.

He has a massive personality, which will probably be a boon for a coach. Several managers described his presence in the dressing room as something massively positive to the team, and said that they picked him ahead of other players (or gave him a contract ahead of players) because of that side of him.

Yeah he's what would be called a 'football man' by the people in the game. Great personality, very hard worker and I'd imagine is quite a student of the game as he wasn't blessed with huge technical ability.

New managers, especially ones like van Nistelrooy who don't necessarily have an established staff, may choose to keep some coaches on so it might not be the end for Hughesy.

I wonder if he'd be able to do some of his mad celebrations in the dugout.

Hughesy became a massive scapegoat here but he never shirked or moaned despite being shunted all over the lineup and I'd like to think that people remember what a great player and huge personality he was for us.

I've noticed Gabriel Osho has been a regular for Auxerre in Ligue 1 this season - starting ten of their twelve games so far. They sit eighth in the league, four points outside a Champions League spot.

Only this third league goal since going there! I don't know if his injuries towards the end of his time here has impacted him negatively.
