Mbappe lol.

Not the penalty miss so much as the fact he openly flirted with Real for 3 years, they pay him £300k a week after tax, shift other players about to accommodate him, thereby disrupting their balance and he's an absolute bag of shite.

Maybe last night had something to do with playing against the current best team in Europe.
Real Madrid have always gone for star names (apart from Beckham who didn't start that many games) and generally find a way to fit them all in .

I expect them and Mbappe to improve as the season progresses.

He has of course been a midfield player so it is no great surprise that he can do things in and around the box.
Also his tackle on Mbappe lifted the crowd and the team.

Let's hope it was cramp last night rather than the dreaded hamstring.

Very little to do with last night, it's what's been said by sports journalists in Spain for the last 3 months. Last night was just confirmation.

Winston Biscuit Come on you Glimters!

I've watched them a few times this season, and they're actually pretty decent, so not surprised they're in front. They pissed all over Porto, even after going a man down.

I'm sorry, but I'm not having that.

David Beckham was at Real Madrid for 4 seasons, played 159 games and started 144 of those, for an average of 36 starts a season and only failed to get on the pitch 4 times.

Yes, we know all that but last night Liverpool took full advantage (even without Alisson, Jota and Trent) of big spending Real Madrid being short of just a few players but still able to include top international players as back-up.
It could just be that Liverpool are moving gradually towards being what they have been in the past, the best side in Europe.

Fair enough-it seemed to me that in his time there he was a peripheral player but your figures appear to dispel that.
Are you sure he started that many and do you know how many games Real Madrid played in that time including all the domestic and European games?
My tongue-in-cheek bit was wasted in implying that he wasn't a star name but just one of the crowd.

Just checked with wiki which says that he only played 116 games for Real Madrid and scored 13 goals over 4 seasons in which they won La Liga just the once.

The so-called "stellar" career of playing at big clubs led to 29 games only for AC Milan , scoring 2 goals and 10 games for PSG scoring 0 goals.

So , the idea that he went on from a very good career at Man Utd to then star at those 3 top European clubs is somewhat of an exaggeration IMHO put forward with the usual hype that went with him being a very good player but a long way from being one of the greats.

That'll be his La Liga stats only. His full Real Madrid stats are here -> https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-beckham/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/3139/plus/1?saison=&verein=418&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=

His AC Milan career was 2, half year, loan spells over 2 seasons, so the 33 games he played for AC Milan he was only available for 44.
His PSG career was 1 loan spell for half a year, he played in 14 games of the 21 he was available for.

You may not like him Vic, but wherever he has played, he has been a very important and key member of the first XI at some of Europe's biggest clubs.

I will not stand for David Beckham slander.

He has been a member of a number of teams but I won't have it that he comes into the "greats" category.
He wasn't even the best player in Man Utd's midfield.

A very hard working player who made the very best of his ability but wouldn't make my top 50 of all time and probably not the top 100.
Presumably his was the poster on your bedroom wall as a child but football started a long time before the arrival of the Premier League.

Slapped down at every turn yet still Vic tries to find an argument over whether Beckham was a ”great” which wasn’t even suggested. And then has the nerve to suggest the poster who has slapped him down is just a young hero-worshipping whippersnapper with no long-term knowledge of the game..

Classic Vic!

Cheers for that hefty dose of condescension, never change Vic.

And yes, I grew up in the 90s and played right midfield as a kid. Of course Beckham was my idol.
