Good game. Botofogo deserved to win that after going down to ten men after a minute!

2. Bundesliga update

Paderborn lead on 27pts - then the crazy begins

Hamburg, Kaiserslauten, Hannover and Karlsruhe all on 23 points

Elversberg, Köln & Dusseldorf next up on 22 pts

Herta Berlin & Magdeberg are 9th and 10th on 21pts

Darmstadt 11th on 20

Nuremburg 12th on 19

Hamburg's 3-1 win against Karlsruhe on Sunday - saw them jump from 10th to 2nd.

Do wonder when was the last time a Serie A top five was established without any of Milan, Juventus or Roma. Albeit the first two now loitering in 6th and 7th.

Juventus' odd league season continues. They remain unbeaten in the league, but have drawn 10 of their 16 games, including the last four. And in each of the last two, they have scored injury time equalisers to preserve their unbeaten run.

In Austria, Guido Burgstaller, who has 26 caps for the national side, was attacked in Vienna city centre at the weekend, and has sustained a fractured skull, which will keep him out for some time.

Real Madrid and Barcelona continue to fail to take advantage of each other's slip ups. Real draw 3-3 with Rayo, having been down 2-0 and then up 2-3 and Barcelona slump to a 0-1 defeat to Leganes, who hadn't won away all season. Yamal was also injured in the game ruling him out for 3-4 weeks.

Atletico are now level on points at the top and play Barca this weekend.

the new money club in France, Paris FC, have really messed up results recently and slipped from top spot down to 2nd place after 1 win in the last 5

some speculation in Germany that Florian Wirtz has signed a new contract at Leverkusen, but the club are saying nothing right now. would be a big statement from them if they were able to tie him down to a new deal and keep him longer

The 2. Bundesliga gets tighter and tighter and could end up being one of the tightest, most exciting title races in years:

Elversberg now lead the way in what is only their 2nd ever season at this level but that is only part of the story. Table looks like:

28pts - Elversberg, Köln & Paderborn

26pts - Düsseldorf, Hannover, Kaiserslauten, Karlsruhe

25pts - Hamburg, Magdeburg

24pts - Darmstadt

So the top half of the table separated by 1 win and the top 10 (of 18) separated by just 4 points.

1 round of games left before the winter break.

I know intent doesn't matter for a red card, but watching the video last night of that I did think he didn't mean it at all

Galatasaray remain undefeated and have dropped only 4 points all season in the league.

Fenerbahce are 6 points behind them, and they play away at Eyupspor today, who are the newly promoted club, managed by Arda Turan, with Jonjo Shelvey in midfield, and they are in 4th place in the league

Trabzonspor 1 place outside the relegation zone :o

Just noticed that Pepe Reina is still playing regularly at a good level at 42 years of age. 8 appearances in Serie A so far this season, 24 years after making his professional debut for Barcelona.

55 professional appearances away from the big 1000
