Wing wouldn't go

His partner is heavily integrated in the culture (if that exists anymore) and the club. She's really happy and has said before that they both wanted to settle and stay long term.

I`d be lying if I said I wasn`t gutted by this news, but to be fair it was just a matter of time with the state we`ve been in for the last year.
I`ll wish him all the best when it happens but that will turn to ill feeling if he comes back and raids our crown jewels next month.

Who is there to stop that happening, or indeed find a replacement for him?

Somebody gave Hull permission to talk to him, I`d imagine the same person(s) makes decisions over transfers.

true

I guess the question is the motivation behind the decisions.
Assuming someone from China it will be all short term thinking.

This is going to be the first time in about 2 years that the "it's done" reports are right, isn't it?

IMO the biggest risk of Wing going is if Wycombe manage to get promoted to The Championship (assuming we don't!) and then try to get him back. In that event he could stay living where they're settled now.

JR Us fans are not allowed to enjoy being a Reading supporter for that long are we.

The euphoria of last night followed by the despair of today.

This will lead to a mass exodus and asset stripping in January, followed by a slide towards the bottom.

A slide accelerated by a points deduction as fans demonstrate that they have finally really had enough of it all and take their grief and anger out on what's left of the business management  at the club and the EFL who have played a masterly Pontius Pilate role throughout this long running farce/tragedy.

I'm raging at this news.

It's so infuriating. We have it all. Incredible training facilities. Fantastic stadium, fantastic first team, unbelievable youth talent pool. Great location in the country, great fanbase, currently momentum, top 6, great manager....

Someone bloody buy us!! You don't need to do anything, just pay the bills and the rest will follow.

I hope it works out for him; would be a waste if he ends up on the scrapheap after a bad appointment.

There are reasons to be skeptical though. It took him time to adapt with us, will he get that? He has a specific playing style, do Hull have the right sort of players? His style is quite open, will it be punished by better opposition? Half the teams in this league couldn't hit a barn door.

You cannot begrudge his decision, but if it goes wrong not many people will remember the job he has done here. It's a ruthless industry

Apparently it's all been a big misunderstanding -

There were choruses of "Sacked in the Morning" last night. These were aimed at Garry Monk but Selles thought they were for him so he decided to jump before he was pushed.

Or perhaps not as "Hull want to make Reading manager Ruben Selles their next manager" was on the Talksport's sports news just now

People saying they cant blame Selles for leaving, well I can especially if it’s to Hull ! Dump at the arse end of nowhere, relegation position and another basket case owner.
People also reference last manager to leave us in good position was Pardew and he is is still hated and called Judas!
In fact Selles leaving would be a worse betrayal knowing the club is on a knife edge and the massive negative effect him leaving could cause. The club shouldn’t be letting him talk to Hull and he shouldn’t want to.
Selles, your being paid and you have a contract so honor your contract get on with your job and don’t become the biggest Judas in the clubs history!

Funny how someone at the club can negotiate to get rid of our manager in 24 hours but can’t sell the club in 24 ‘kin months!

I think you misunderstood the situation the club will receive compensation, he is effectively being sold.
The proceeds from this and the January sale will mean the club will just along seemingly indefinitely.
Dai has no intention of selling.

I just can’t see it being Hull.

If you’ve had enough, fine, but just wait man, there will be far better options for you once the next cycle of the merry go round kicks in.

Hull would be a terrible move for Selles. Terrible city and part of the country, a club who could be playing in our league next year, who don't play similarly to us. If Selles was smart he'd say no and hold out. If he'd gone to say Leicester, Southampton or West Brom I'd understand it more.

Speaking hypothetically here but if Selles left and there's a mass January exodus then 100% we need to take protests to a new level. Get games abandoned (screw the consequences), get to Pang's house, give his nephew and sister hell. We can't go on in this position. It's dragged on far too long and clearly he's just a scumbag who hates us otherwise he'd have sold.

I think people underestimate the toll of working at the club; not knowing when bad news will break, when the bills will stop being paid, what protests may occur etc., Plus, while Hull itself isn't much to write home about, he can probably buy a massive fcuk off house on the Yorkshire coast within about 30 minutes drive.

We'll have more of an idea at some point today as the players will be back in for training. Odds slightly drifted out overnight from 1/10 to 2/5

Talkshite reporting it's Hull homing in on him.... I mean f*cking Hull. A basket case of a club and one heading for bad times. Apart from money, there is no way that is in anyway career progression. It will do him more harm than good.

Not sure he'd be wise to buy a house up there given they sacked a manager for finishing 7th just a few months ago.
