El Diablo Can't blame Ruben for wanting to leave but to Hull?

That's what I think.

Hull is such an odd choice. It's uninspiring (no offence to them, just the timing and their position).

I can understand his desire to get away but this doesn't feel a good choice

If he goes, I'll be absolutely gutted. It would feel like the heart being ripped out of the team. We'll likely then lose Bindon too in January. Bleak.

I think it just highlights how bad it must be behind the scenes and he’s been told so many lies. Also, if a takeover was genuinely happening he’d probably stay so that tells me nothing is happening.

Ruben needs to spend a weekend in Hull with his wife before he decides , Bleak doesn't begin to describe the place.

Who sacked off Liam Rosenior end of last season (after finishing 7th) , due to ' a difference of opinion on the team's style of football '....

Hilarious to think they finished 7th, and are now fighting relegation, due to the whim of their owner. Just goes to show.... be careful what you wish for!

It will have to be Hunt as no manager in their right mind is going to join a club in our situation.

We have a good track record of internal promotions. Off the pitch it's a shitshow, but on the pitch Hunt will be inheriting a decent team and he knows the youngsters. It's not a hopeless situation like when he replaced Ince.

If he's in the dug out for Saturday, let's not overreact if the league leaders beat us.

People saying they cant blame Selles for leaving, well I can especially if it’s to Hull ! Dump at the arse end of nowhere, relegation position and another basket case owner.
People also reference last manager to leave us in good position was Pardew and he is is still hated and called Judas!
In fact Selles leaving would be a worse betrayal knowing the club is on a knife edge and the massive negative effect him leaving could cause. The club shouldn’t be letting him talk to Hull and he shouldn’t want to.
Selles, your being paid and you have a contract so honor your contract get on with your job and don’t become the biggest Judas in the clubs history!

I think it just highlights how bad it must be behind the scenes and he’s been told so many lies. Also, if a takeover was genuinely happening he’d probably stay so that tells me nothing is happening.

He has said time and time again that he's not involved in the takeover stuff, he knows nothing about it and he doesn't want to.

People really need to stop reading into things that aren't there and doom mongering.

IF Selles goes it's a blow. But it's hardly instant exodus and complete free fall.

I think you're underestimating his importance. He's become the figure head for everything that's good with the club and is the focal point for the relationship with the fans, and that's before you consider the respect he has from the players, the job he has done introducing youngsters and improving players.

And on top of that, it's another clear sign to everyone that this club is in clear decline with no immediate sign of our fortunes being turned around. If you're a potential buyer, Selles was a big attraction, now they know they will have more mess to fix. It makes a sale less likely.

Now on the pitch we're doing fine, and will stay up this season. We've also got other good people at the club who care about us like Hunt and Leigertwood. But you can forget anyone extending their contract; our amount of good L1 players will dwindle year on year and we won't convince players like Smith, Knibbs and Wing to join again. L2 beckons unless we finally oust Dai, and the question is simply a matter of timing.

There was a chance with Selles here to get the buyer in and turn things around; make our L1 stay a blip and put this dreadful era behind us. That can still happen, but it just became a whole lot harder. Selles leaving is gutting as for a while we all saw the way out of this mess, and now we can't. In fairness, I've know since the failed Couhig deal that we were on borrowed time and everything off the pitch would start hurting us. This is the start of that.

This is just daft

He's one man leading a team, he's not an infallible messiah. There are people queuing up to buy the club. Finding a buyer has never been a problem.

None of the rest of what you say is any different whether Selles stays or goes. And L2 isn't the destination if a sale doesn't go through (we have buyers) - its oblivion.

It's just pathetic how one piece of potential bad news that isn’t even unexpected suddenly has everyone pissing their knickers again when we're in the Play Offs.

He hasn’t agreed to go just yet so let’s not focus on even more cr@p before it happens, we’ve got quite enough already.

When Couhig was first rumoured people were saying Selles's days were numbered, as a new owner would want to being in his own people (Gareth Ainsworth was specifically mentioned and Joe Jacobson too).

Perhaps Ruben knows that a takeover is close and the above is likely to happen (be it Couhig or someone else) so is getting out on his own terms?

(Probably not but who knows...)
