Silver Fox A point was a damn good result considering they played like they'd never met at times. If ever the value of Salah was emphasised then last night was it

Newcastle were terrific, Isak showing exactly why he is one player the likes Liverpool, Arsenal etc. should be queuing up to sign in the transfer window.

Liverpool were poor by their standards but given they've had a fight and battle at Southampton then, supposedly, last year's best team in Europe followed by the best team in England it's probably not a surprise to see their small squad starting to feel the tiredness creep into their mental performances as much as the physical. But Salah is one hell of a player. Not at his best but still 2 goals and an assist, one wonders what planet FSG are on to play stupid games with his contract.

No doubt many pundits will be out soon saying that Liverpool will be out of the title race if they don't smash Everton on Saturday.

TAA created five goalscoring chances, two of which were converted for assists, in just 23 minutes on the field last night. I can't see Slot dropping him again in a hurry.

Royal Rother Arsenal’s corners are ridiculously good, but (broken record time) who oh why they didn’t go all in for Isak I don’t know. He is the perfect fit for them in the area they are so lacking and would have made all the difference. What a hit from him tonight!

So good they bounce passes off players thighs.

Has there been a more 'spursy' Spurs team than this?

Usual dying swan routine from players. Generally, do wish the authorities would get referees to levy stern action on players who overreact to contact. Yes there may have been a foul but sometimes the unbelievable dive and/or rolling about screaming and clutching a part of the body that was never touched that follows really should be punished almost as much.

How can Spurs not be everyone’s “safe” favourite club. Good enough to beat the best one week but able to give the high entertainment value of losing to the “iffy” the next week. Been like that ever since the mid 1960s and even more obvious since the great Bill Nicholson left.

Agreed

And every so often the authorities talk about clamping down on it but it still persists. It's so prevalent these days people have forgotten what it looks like when someone actually gets hurt

Liverpool Everton off! Never seen games called off because of storms before. The countries gone to shit.

Sporting things get called off these days because of the nebulous “the safety of those attending”, chances are many sporting events that are postponed could proceed and there’d be no problems.

It’s as if storms are new or something. It’s not been a problem for the last 150 years. Why are we cancelling games to it now. It’s just ridiculous

They never cared about those attending and the possibility that some plank might sue someone if they got an injury until recently.

It's at Goodison. Goodison is a 40,000 seat shed surrounded by terraced streets that funnel the wind off the estuary.

Whilst I'm somewhat sympathetic to the "Wouldn't have happened in my day" brigade, I'm not massively surprised it's been called off.

I was down by Bramley Moor this morning, slaloming between flying Grundons on the dock road so the conditions aren't great and it's still blowing a hooley 5hrs later. I wonder if it's a decision made on advisement of the emergency services.

They've cancelled today's race meet at Aintree as well.

That was before they started naming them... Since then the storms have got much worse!

It was probably an easy decision to make considering not many people would've had to travel for the game
