Tmac having a mare at Derby, poor defending for second goal and deflected third past keeper.

There are a lot of twitter weirdos who love seeing McIntrye struggling. Strange behavior considering he's Reading through and through.

JedMaxwell Having had some potentially fatal events in my life, the details of which I won't bore you with, time becomes the predominant healer once the physical effects are gone/dealt with.

Once you've mentally processed what happens, you start to look at the situation differently and realise that it was pre-destined to happen and in fact this is probably the best-case scenario. I am sure whatever does happen, eventually Michail will come to realise being able to see his kids and carry on living is actually a gift.

Anyway, as said before he's in great physical condition to deal with whatever injuries he has and also has a good personality for recovery. I hope the mental scars aren't too burdensome either.

Who by, god?

Maybe. I'm not sure any of us will ever know the answer to that question for sure.

When I had the aforementioned events, I thought that it was always going to happen and therefore the fact I've come out the other side reasonably safe and will recover, is actually good. But maybe that is just me trying to cope with it.

I'd like to also say that I am fully aware that I could be talking absolute bollocks, and this doesn't apply to everyone, but is just my experience of things.

Fair enough. And glad to hear you came through.

A deterministic universe also doesn’t require a god, so the by who question isn’t necessary.

Yeah. Wish him well, but have no interest in hearing in his troubles. Successes would be nice to celebrate but, really?

The level of following ex players exploits has struck me as weird for a while.

Like, I get revelling in the continued failure of a hated player to some extent. And I get following the successes of a former legend, or great prospect.

But inane updates of mediocrity for absolutely nothing players through the ages has me confused.

Fair enough, we all have differing views on things, it’s what makes the world go round, the sad thing nowadays (especially evident on social media) is that many can’t accept anyone who doesn’t share their echo chamber views on life.

For me, I nearly died in 2010 in a car crash, looking back, it was the black ice that did for me rather than it being part of any pre destined event, but it could be argued either way I guess.

Goes without saying that Twitter is a weird place that brings out the absolute worst in people

Re:TMac - through little fault of their own for me they seem to represent a really grim time at the club. They both seem good lads but sadly have very little happy memories of either of them. Which is a shame considering their backgrounds shit the club

It does seem to show that both were probably pushing their luck in the champ though

Holmes and TMac had many of the attributes to make it the Champ. In a less shit club they may have progressed better. Both were a bit too slow, McIntyre more so. And his career has been oblitered by being made of glass but never pulling out of anything.

Holmes never got over his youthful struggles with positioning and recovery and would always deal with it by wrestling.

Love them both, hope they pull their careers together. Definitely don't want gloating updates on how they're struggling.

It was the same with Southwood. Lots of updates when he was conceding loads of goals, all quiet when he was doing fine.

Just a lot of bitter twisted morons out there.

I see Olise has made the Guardian's top 100 players in the world list for 2024, is he the first ex-Reading player to do so?

Can't think of anyone else who would have unless Gylfi snuck in

Neil Webb is possibly the only other contender unless you count any of those we’ve had on their way down in their careers.

If loans count, Martinez was also on the list. Ake has probably been on it, maybe Bertrand.

Robin Friday topped it for 8 consecutive seasons in the late 70’s.
Martinez definitely counts.

Good to see Holmes starting for Luton although it may be because they have a number of players out.

Btw the Tmac stuff on Twitter is not about the player, its aimed at the Pompey fans gloating they'd mugged us and hoping we went bust last season.

Hit his arse getting out the way of his own players’ shot - not sure he gets much credit for it!

But good to see him starting regularly for them nowadays

Abbey and Mbengue would be a hella quick backline. But error prone.
