WestYorksRoyal I don't see how he can demonstrate lost earnings. He made a profit on Wycombe and we've seen clubs like Ipswich generate a big return for their owners. But football is such a high risk, speculative industry. His business plan could have been ruined by an ACL injury or a ref howler in the play offs.
How do you demonstrate at a burden of proof high enough to satisfy a judge that this has cost him so much money?
Partly may be the loss of earnings from the money he loaned the club and sunk in legal fees.
He wouldn't get anywhere, but it wouldn’t be hard to show the vastly increased revenue in the Championship and increase in club value from it and show he could have made X extra in TV, gate and merchandising, plus potential sale.
The aim won't be to see Court, it'll be to force a settlement that is either buying the club for the previous deal, or getting his legal fees, maybe a bit more.
