from what I just read it sounds like the CSD are going to overrule La Liga to allow a 3 month temporary registration while they work on Barcelona's appeal to make a clear long term legal decision

also interesting to note that not only does this decision mean that Barcelona would be breaking the salary cap/registration rule, but Spanish football has a rule that the same player cannot be registered more than once to a club during a season, and this also means they are breaking that rule too.

also, what happens if Olmo has amazing games against Real Madrid and Atletico, scores important goals, wins the games for them, then its ruled that he shouldn't be registered so after 3 months he can't play, and Barcelona win the league by a point or on head to head ? can see other clubs being pretty upset with that

anyway, none of this is actually confrimed yet so the rumours may not be 100% correct

Does seem a little strange that a court can actually overall the rules of a private organisation like La Liga especially a rule designed to ensure a level of fairness across the board and not have clubs push themselves into further financial turmoil. Unless as you say there is a clear contravention of Spanish Law - in which case the 3 months seems pointless as the court can rule and state the full decision will follow in due course and can be appealed at that time.

To do it, on such a temporary basis as well is crazy for the reasons you state. This is the court essentially saying, "Don't know, guv" and pushing it down the road.

What would be interesting now is if Olmo decides that that isn't good enough - it has been reported that he would become free agent if he wasn't registered by the end of the year - so he technically has the choice between staying and maybe being in limbo again come April but unable to sign for anyone, or moving to another club now knowing his registraton will be fine.

Some additional lols:

This non registration has only come about (obv aside from the club being a financial basket case) because Barca miscalculated the finances of their new Nike kit deal and thought it meant they were ok to sign Olmo. in addition, they removed Ter Stegen's salary from their calculations, as you are allowed to do for long term injuries, and submitted a request that the wages be used to cover Olmo's wages, completely forgetting that they already made that same request a few weeks earlier for his wages to cover Wojciech Szczesny, which was approved.

In a last minute desperate attempt to have the money to register Olmo & Victor, last week Barcelona sold off their hospitality 'VIP seats' for a cut price €100M on a long term deal to a middle east company, but it didn't satisfy La Liga hence why they took it to the government. so it means they have now sold off their hospitality, on the cheap, for no real reason

understandably, some fan groups are calling for Laporta to step down

At some point they are simply going to run out of things to sell bar players, so are either going to have to keep challenging rules or actually try and sell players at top value and replace them with cheaper players.

Or go bust.

Should have followed the U.K. model and sold things to themselves.
