blythspartan I am starting to think Dai has the money, but is being choosy about when to spend it.

On a separate note, am I correct in thinking that we still have a suspended 2 point deduction if we fail to pay tax or wages on time? Pretty sure that was the situation going back to March 24.

Looks like it.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68413946

Reading have had two more points docked, their third deduction of the season, by the English Football League.

The League One side have had a further two-point penalty suspended after failing to pay dues to HMRC within an 80-day limit imposed by the EFL.

Also have a suspended three point deduction for any further crowd trouble.

Cheers, I didn’t think I’d dreamt it, but these days I never know.

He's paying lawyers to counter sue Couhig. You think they're doing it pro-bono? It's definitely a choice. He's bored of his expensive toy.

You sure he's paying them? Given his last set are suing him for not paying them?

No win no fee?
He didn't pay his last laywers on time.... Maybe this is Couhig's plan, Sue Dai, Having him counter-sue and end up with legal fees he can't pay and then have his own laywers send him into administration allowing Couhig to pick up the club on the cheap.

From The Spectator magazine, 18 January, The turf column:

"(Kia) Joorabchian has spent £24 million plus at Book One of the October yearling sale. " "That took his total spend for the year to more than £38 million."

On horses, not footballers.

Makes you ...?

If his tip on the horses is as dire as his tip for players, then good luck to his accountant!

More details have emerged of Dai's counter claim which is roughly in line with the supposedly insider information given to the 1871 pod cast chaps before they gave up.

It seems very much like Couhig and Dai are both about as legit as a seven quid note. Where's Mike Ashley when you need him?

Agreed. If he thinks he can turn a 200% profit on a loss-making League 1 club he must have had some pretty drastic cost cutting and asset stripping in mind.

Hmmm, who do you believe... the guy with a good track record, suing about the interaction and decision for the deal, or the guy with a dreadful track record whose own lawyers are suing him, and who is counter-suing based on things that happened after Couhig's attempt to buy had already been torpedoed.

Yep, it's certainly not Dai.

Dai’s sister still knocking about?

What a crappy mess. Wish it’d all just go away

I don't trust either of them. I know he did a good job with Wycombe, but there's a whiff of sulphur about his plans for Reading I don't like.

+1

Do we want a normal club on a restrictive budget but at least run properly and able to pay all its bills on time, or a club that continues with the current ****, never gets sold and is wound up by August?

Couhig's pushing this angle to try and force a sell.

I don't quite see how he comes out of that article poorly. His one quote is 'completion better than litigation', the rest is reported and

“It smacks of a claim being issued for its own sake, for the collateral benefits which might be available from the pressure which the mere existence of litigation can bring to bear;"

Well, quite.

Exactly.

What is he accused of doing? After his deal got all the way then inexplicably collapses because of Dai, holding on to the liens on the club assets after his lian had been paid back. He openly said he was doing this as part of his legal action as collateral, and because he couldn't remove them without the cooperation of Dai's own lawyers, who were suing Dai. This appears to have been resolved before the latest collapse and Dai's countersuit.

What else? He contacted other potential buyers and provided them info. So what. Info they'd have got themselves if they completed their own diligence. Loitz has been doing the same, and pn social media. This is hardly something a Reading fan should be concerned with.

There is little in common between Couhig and Loitz. One was a serious buyer who got very close and is disclosing concrete information in court. The other is a chancer conspiracy theorist who tells us that lots of bad things are happening without a shred of specific details or evidence. He waits for someone else to do that and then jumps on it to justify himself.

Apologies, if this is a dumb question, but can the sell still go ahead despite the ongoing court battle?

Maybe. We don't have a buyer anymore though (other than Couhig) so not bloody likely.
