Away Shirt Arrived

by Gilksey » 05 Jul 2006 08:16

The Premiership Sleeve badges have changed to patches that you have to apply yourself and were not included with my shirt, despite the letter attached claiming they were included. Also, according to the letter with the shirt, the Feyenord match is on July 12th. Mentions the home kit, but nothing about the early invite for season ticket holders.
Another success for Reading FC.

July 12th? That doesn't give the ticket office much time to sell the tickets...

LOL @ having to apply your own Premiership transfers for your shirt.

Just got mine too, will take the patches to my Mum to iron on. The shirt looks much nicer up close than it does on the website, those photos did it no favours at all. Pleasantly surprised that it came today, what with the official site saying all orders "will be send out in one lot this Wednesday 5th July".

It does note that if you're incompetent like me you can take your badges and shirt down to the Megastore and they'll attach them for you. A bit of a nuisance they've not sent them like that in the first place, but I guess they'll argue it would have meant them taking each shirt out of its wrapping, printing and then re-packaging before sending, thus causing a long delay.

I expect they didn't put them on in case the shirt needed returning due to incorrect size etc.

Just heard that new home shirts will comprise separate bands of blue and white fabric plus needle, thread and instructions!

I just got mine as well.....

I did receive the Premiership Sleeve badges.... I'll have to get the club to iron it on, cause if I do it they won't be straight. They will be all over the place!

Having received it, I don't think the shirt is that nice..... Its not as good as previous away shirts. Even the red and white arrows away shirt was better than this one! The one we wore when Slough scored two injury time goals against us in the FA Cup one year.

I hear that when you've sewn the patches on, you take it back into the megstore and they'll give you some Royalty points - the exact number will depend upon how neat your stitching is.

I didn't order one. Now call me lazy, but I assumed that the club would be putting the sleeve patches on the shirts before sending them out.
