Key players for the coming season

by Royalwaster » 20 Jul 2006 14:44

Who do you think are our key players for the coming season - that have to be on top of their game and more so, which could not easily be replaced if they got injured?

I'd say: Doyle, Convey and Little.

(Waiting for sarky comments - a la : all the team, etc.)

Lita. I truly think he'll be our top scorer next season. His type of striker usually does well in the Prem.

Again Hahnemann will be massively important likewise Nicky Shorey. Shorey guarantees you a lot of assists a season with his left foot and it's important he continues to get forward. I also want to see him scorer a 25 yard screamer. He should score 1 or 2 of them a season.

Agree.

Lita himself seems confident he can do well. Harper...Its really hard to tell with these sort of things but im confident a lot of our team will make the step up.

Bobby Convey.

I predict him to be our star player next season.

Royalwaster I'd say: Doyle, Convey and Little.
No mention of Kitson - If you think he's not good enough to make your top 3 then at least have the balls to say it to his face. What a disgrace. It's keyboard warriors like you who give the internet a bad name

I'm hoping we haven't signed them yet.

The key, excuse the pun, will be how our "key" players, and the others for that matter, respond to defeats.

I think that the partnerships between Sonko-Ivar,Sidders-Harper and the front 2 will be the most important factors next season

All of them, really.

We'll need to score some goals though, so I'd go with Doyle who I rate as probably our best striker. Kits on his day, sure, but he needs to work on a few areas of his game IMHO.

For a big lad he doesn't win much in the air. A lot of the time he doesn't even bother jumping. I'd like to see him competing for 90 minutes and spending less time moaning at the ref. He'll be getting even less decisions going his way in the Prem than he did in the Championship.

Doyle is the most mobile of the strikers, wins more in the air and holds the ball up better than Leroy. Leroy's the finisher, no doubt, but Doyle is the key man for me.

I think we'll still score goals, so I think the key next season is keeping it tight at the back and probably even more important than that, getting off to a flying start to create some momentum and belief.
