Nice one RFC. It's like having a mate forget his roots when their circumstances change for the better.

As other people have said though, it's Premiership Fever and RFC's temperature is running at 107.

Sounds to me like they are planning on poaching one or both of Tim & Joel. So would they turn their backs on BBCRB?... if they did would you be more inclined to listen to 107?

Not meaning to be critical (OK, yes I do) but that website is awful. Plus, the RFC info is on the same page as the London Irish and the Reading Bulldogs.

Love the 'cut and paste' approach to the fixture list as well. It reeks of daddy asking his child for help on his company's website.

The website is pathetic. It's crapply designed as and for being the official site of the royals - yea right? BBC Berkshire has a brilliant website, and their coverage of RFC are amazing., So many photos and reports still available and being advertsied on the main sports pages right now.

Even a few months after it all happened!!

on their website ( http://www.reading107fm.com ) on the home page down the right their is a small box which says Reading 107 fm news and the news scrolls down. the first item and it says Kitson wants to move to 4-5-1 even though we have a load of strikers including Lita Doyle Long Kitson and james hunt...

Another bollox decision from the club. Is short term cashflow really that desperate even with the hike in season ticket prices and lack of transfer expenditure? Surely the benefit of reaching a wider regional audience as a the only Premiership club in the wider area outside of London/Portsmouth has to be more beneficial than a few pennys from the local amateur FM?

Mistakes as follows...
Royals Striker Dave Kitson's told us a change in Formation may be necessary to stay in The Premiership. Steve Coppell's prefers a 4-4-2 and has a rich pool of forwards to choose from. However, against Rushden & Diamonds he experiemented with a 4-5-1, and could follow suit against Northampton Town tomorrow. The more Defensive-minded Formation aims to restrict the Premiership Giants from their free-flowing play, and was used to great-effect by Wigan and West Ham last Season. But the Royals have a cue of Strikers vying for a start, including Kevin Doyle, Leroy Lita, Shane Long, James Hunt - and Kitson himself, who's prepared to be sacraficed for the good of the Team.

But in this day and age radio coverage is the least likely way to reach new fans. The only people who will listen to a game on the radio are fans who haven't made it to the match for whatever reason.

The majority of those live in Reading, which 107 covers (and I would imagine they stream on the internet as well) therefore from the club's point of view, the majority of their fans can hear the games live. 107 have also apparently bid more, so there was only ever going to be one winner.

The main quibble here seems to be that people preferred BBC Berks coverage - well sadly it's an open market and they lost.
