If he establishes himself as a Premiership full back, that will be one hell of a journey from Orient reserves, and I really hope he makes it but can't see him gettting any further with a right foot that wouldn't look out of place in the Conference.

He's no two footed player like Wayne Bridge.....Oh.

Convey doesn't pass as 2 footed but his right foot is good enough for him to have the confidence to come inside and even swap to the right.

Shorey can't do this just like Glen Little can't play on the left...............Convey is an international just like the 2 footed Salako and the others are not.

There's a dearth of left footed players in the game which gives Shorey a good chance of being a decent Premiership left back but he's still the most one sided player in our team and England will be scraping the barrel if he ever gets a full cap.

I wish Shorey well but he has his limitations.

Forbury Lion With enough injuries he might be in with a shout.

A great season with Reading playing to the best of his abilty every game certainly won't do any harm.

Also, with the lack of English strikers I would suggest Kitson and Lita might attract some interest from Steve McLaren if they manage to bang them in regularly.

I agree think we may have a few players sniffing around the England squad next year, have been trying to find odds on a Reading player getting a england cap by end of 2007 (but no luck so far).

Who exactly, apart from Shorey, might be sniffing? Kitson or Lita? Hardly. Sidwell? Not a chance.

Simon Cox? Maybe.

So you are saying Simon Cox has a better chance of playing for England then either Kitson or Lita :?

Don't forget that the transfer window is not closed yet.
JM / SC might decide to regain Matthew Upson (I have heard a rumour that he is being lined up as a Reading player again).
Then again, knowing our luck at attracting old timers (Salako, Ferdinand and Keown) we will probably end up with Geoff Hurst or malcolm McDonald!

Shozza is amazing, did you see that ball in the first minute at Northampton? But i have never seen him get down adn dirty with tackling, only sheppard the player to another part of the pitch. If he improves a bit, which, if we arnt the whiping boys, he will. Thi will go for all players, adn i for one think that at least 2 players could break into the ENgland squad!

I have always liked Shorey and would love it if he at least made the squad. McClaren likes to use young players as was shown at Middlesbro, so there maybe a friendly where he would give Nicky a run out 2nd half, assuming he was resting Cole. Nicky has the brain to make up for his slight lack of pace.

I think Shorey will cope well in the Premiership.
