What I like about this thread is that many of the uber-negative posters from the last pre-season are the same doom mongers THIS pre-season!

Hilarious!!!

:D

(Forward to pre-season 2010/11 - Doom-Monger 1 posts: "Unless we spend £100M before the season kick off we will have NO chance of retaining the Champions League trophy.....again"

Doom Monger 2 "Thats right - get a grip Lord Mad of Whitley, show us your ambition!"

Doom Monger 3 "Yeah - Coppell MAY have had a bit of success in the last few Years, winning the Premiership, FA Cup and Champions League - twice - but he really is clueless in the transfer market and has no idea about tactics, does he?")

I still think Coppell will leave before Forster hits 15.... or plays 15 consecutive matches injury free.

Royal Rother You do confuse me Jay.

It's an easy thing to do.

What i meant was, Coppell has admitted he'll leave if we don't go up this coming season.

We'll, we arn't are we? It would take the most optimist of fans to think we even have a hope of the play-offs.

So, it's a certainty he'll go by the latest of next June or if things are that bad he may go earlier.

Jeffers217 Please now! Can't sign a named player to save his life, couldnt even sign Powell. Damaged all the enthusiasm of the club and damaged the half decent football we used to play. Added to this players have lost confidence- Harper, Murty, etc

Damn right, Coppell out!

ITFC One thing Ive thought about SC and his 'best mate' relationship with BFJ.

If Forster was such a crappy player, would SC have let him come to Ipswich and his best mate or was it that you just couldnt afford to keep him?

A bit of both.

He isn't the player that put three past you a while ago, not by a long shot. His injury proneness gets worse by the day,.

Evidenced by what exactly?

Last season?

Players don't get fitter as they get older.

I will chew my own arm off if he scores more than 6, possibly 7 goals next season. I would also not be surprised if they all come against us.

He he he, I started reading this thread and it wasn't until until the second page that I realised it was a year old, some of the comments tied up anyway, it was the Forster comments that gave it away and talking about Lita possibly coming to us

Hilarious reading though, jeffers really dealt out some pearls of wisdom....

Isnt it a case of to certify you're a reading fan you have to be negative before the season kicks off tho? In the last 2 months of last season I was sure we'd finish Top 10 this season, now I'm thinking a relegation battle. Tho I still think we'll stay up

The mysterious shrinking thread.

On Oct 16 Platypuss Seven pages packed full of chewy goodness!

Now it's on page five. Are some of the more egregious offenders cunningly removing their posts?

Royal Rother What I meant was that I'm confused as to whether you're pro or anti Coppell. I don't hang on your every word but I detect confusing messages at times!

I'm pro Coppell, what he did at Palace I've always held out hope he could do here but my hopes are fading of late.

Maybe it's not him, maybe he doesn't have all the freedom he needs (the 'appy wabbit etc).

But I'm growing more disillusioned each day.

I really do talk a load of bollocks.

Be quiet and have some optimism! The season hasn't even started and some of you guys are moaning about him!

AND THERE'S STILL A FREAKING MONTH TILL THE SEASON STARTS SO HOW DO YOU KNOW COPPELL HASN'T GOT ANYONE LINED UP?!??!?

ALL YOU MOANERS CAN JUST OXF*RD OFF AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED!

cos hes crap in the transfer market, and has not progressed us in the slighest. We have a worse squad than when he took over![/quote]

yer... :? and that's the team that have just won the championship, and you say we are even worse than when coppell took over :? errm hello? where have you been?

give him time, besides he said in a report that we don't Necessarily need more players to take on the premiership. we drew against birmingham, won against west brom, and both without all of our 1st team!

So coppell does seem to say something in that dressing room, remember when we played derby on 1st april? we were 0-0 at half time, and then came out and scored 5 goals!which crowned as champs! come on, if you really think about it we don't really need more players, but i think it would help. on the brightside we've got 2 new lads seol of which has given us a good impresion of what he can do on the pitch.

so just because we haven't got many new people, doesn't mean to say that we'll fail. coppell is trying and we all need to respect that.
