meeky_no9 Rooney and scholes? There getting a three match ban.

Not now they aren't. See the BBC website.

They still might, the dutch didn't send the report in time for the FA to ban them for the Fulham game

BTW I predict myself and Huntley & Palmer will have to confront the full horror of the North Stand smoking ban on Saturday

Oh shit I forgot about that. Looks like a quick leg it up the concourse to Gate 5 before half time then. How on Earth am I going to get a pint and have a fag in fifteen minutes?

why is everyone in disbelief? it may only be a friendly, and they are a top european side, but if you guys think that we'll get thrashed by these guys then what hope do we have in the premiership, esspecially against chelsea who beat them 1-0 last night, and chelsea were away.
c'mon chin up guys!!
i say 1-0 to the mighty royals, doyle 88mins  8)

Chelsea only beat them 1-0 with a very tidy side out - I think we might struggle in this game and that might be a good thing for all our expectations for next season - bit of a reality check - I suspect we'll lose by maybe 1-0 or 2-1.

Obviously I'm hopefull we'll win 423-0, but in reality I'm naturally a touch pessimistic...

It's a Feyenoord tradition to loose pre-season friendlies against English teams 2-0.

3 years ago Portsmouth and last year we did the same against Charlton Athletic.

Keep you eye on our number 7: Dirk Kuyt.
He is everywhere on the pitch, fighting for the full 90 minutes, and more and more teams want him to sign for their club.

I think around 750 Feyenoord supporters will be coming to Reading as well, if not more.

I'll go for a seemingly exciting 2-4 to Feyernoord

with Kitson and Convey for us.

and don't forget midfielder De Guzman, best player on the field against Chelsea. In a few years we'll get 25 million for him

Let's hope all Feyenoord-supporters can come to the game because of the problems on the airports....

Indeed but perhaps more importantly, have Feyenoord actually flown over yet?

2-1 isnt a thrashing, i expect a good game and that we'll battle, just as stated its a bit of a trend for us to walk through all our friendlies but the big one. Besides, we cant keep winning forever

higher Anyone know what (if any) impact bookings/sendings off have in friendly matches? Are these carried into season proper?

Yes as a 3-match-ban

Are you sure? Convey got sent off in a friendly in Sweden last season and didn't get a ban.

Yes he did. He got a 3 game ban, but it only applied to reserve matches (so in effect wasn't really relevant)

Convey actually only got a 1 game reserve team ban as the red was for 2 yellows out in Sweden.

And even in 2002 we were on the edge of going out almost every round...
First we played Champions League against teams like Bayern Munich, Sparta Prague and Spartak Moscow, in which we finished third.

Then we played against the German site SC Freiburg, we won at home 1-0 and played 2-2 in Freiburg after we were 2-0 behind.
Then Glasgow Rangers 1-1 in Glasgow and 3-2 in Rotterdam.
PSV Eindhoven: 1-1 in Eindhoven and until the 92nd minute 0-1 at home.
Then a magnificent header of Van Hooijdonk which made it 1-1, and we won after penalty kicks.

Semi-final was against Inter Milan: 0-1 in Italy, 2-2 at home

And the final was held in our own stadium and we won against Borussia Dortmund 3-2.

Great memories!!

The team itself more important as the supporters???
To be honest, on almost all of my European trips the 90 minutes of football were nothing more then a troublesome interruption of my stay in the local pub!!! :D :D :D
