Royal Lady "exclusive" my @rse. They've read the board and have printed a story about the medal. Next week, they'll be posting about Maguire's forehead surgery.

It was on radio berks this morning. They said they heard it from the club.

I'm sure someone would have noticed, I don't think the Club knew before I told them though, suprised the Club mentioned it to the press though.

Its in the Evening Post tonight that the police and RFC are investigating the auction and that the auction has been pulled.

Disgraceful - he didn't even say in the advert it was a copy.

Nope he said it was one that was given to players and staff, not one that he brought for £20

Agree with what Andy West said in that he was disappointed that a member of staff would want to sell their medal.

he should be done for selling an item, without disclosing that it was a copy anyway.

The club should have had terms of sale that mean't anyone not wanting it had to offer it back to the club first for £20.

The guy works for RFC but isn't a fan, Presumably just saw this as a money making scheme.

He was a plumber for FFS. I accept that Reading FC needs staff from all walks of life but I don't remember SC attributing any of the team performances last season to how well the toilets flushed. What caused him to be so privileged as to get his hands on a medal

What is the worth of a Championship Medal to anyone if someone can just fork out to buy one and how many are in circulation to bring down the rarity value?

If you are given a medal then it should only be sold in extreme circumstances and long after the event but on the other hand if he did have to buy it with his own money then he must be perfectly entitled to sell it for whatever he can get.

It's just another example of rip-off football.

It was a replica - and presumably says so in very large letters somewhere on it.

When you win an Oscar you have to sign a statement that says if you want to sell it you have to offer it back to AMPAS first for $1. The club should have done the same thing with any of their replicas so as to stop anyone who had no affiliation with the club owning one.

Btw, the only reason we didn't hear about the work of the plumber was presumably the fact that the players didn't have to wade through a foot of shit to get from the dressing rooms to the pitch.

Really? I'm merely stating what a lot of other people think. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I wonder what attitude Ebay took towards somebody trying to sell a replica without clearly indicating that it was, in fact, fake?

Doubt he'd have got back his £20 if he had put REPLICA in big letters on his advert.
