wehateoxford its funny you should mention that....

seriously though, i dont see how people can claim its a huge unbreachable gap when he's just played in the world cup finals, and made a mockery of italy albeit for about 20 minutes.

in this instance sir, you should remove your bias against reading biasm
:P

Don't think that is what he is saying.

At this moment in time, Downing would be the better pick as he has shown he can do the job in the Prem. Convey hasn't. I think he will be a star this year but in a straight pick at this moment in time, I would pick Downing.

Amen to that brother.

I've only seen Downing play once live, in the England B game earlier this summer. Frankly, I wasn't impressed. Maybe he was keyed-up, but his crossing was frankly abysmal. However, I think it was his crosses that led to some goals on Wednesday night, I can't remember.

I'd take Bobby, 'cause he's our's! Nowt wrong with bias, it is the basis of supporting a club, IMO.

When that bias stops you from forming a considered, balanced opinion, I'd say there is something wrong with it.

Convey

In fact, the only player from Middlesboro's side I would have in our team is Arca.

So if you could only pick one Boro player, which one?

For me, I think I'd take Boateng's work ethic.

Firstly, thats your opinion.

Secondly, Viduka - he blows hot and cold and I wonder if it was a choice between him and Kitson who many would prefer.

Schwarzer - I'd have Marcus over him any day of the week frankly.

Yakubu - I'd rather thave Doyle than him

Boateng - yeah right!!!

I'd rather have Gunnarsson than Boateng FFS!

Maybe you want to have a little more faith in our team and in our players.

Mr Angry

Don't underestimate Boro.

They have very good players.

So have Reading, as they will prove this season.

Mr A.

There is faith and blind faith. I have every faith in our team to do the job on Saturday and this season but I also can see that Boro have some players that could improve our squad and possibly team, nothing wrong in that.

Boateng is better than any of our central midfielders. I think some of us are getting a bit cocky.

Well said Mr Angry

Last season their UEFA grit was much like Wycombes in the FA Cup - laudable but wing and a prayer!
