YorkshireRoyal Yes, our TEAM is better than the UEFA Cup finalists, FA Cup semi-finalists and a TEAM that beat Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea with ease last season!

Some people are going to be in for a nasty suprise tomorrow afternoon.

You did mean anyone associated with 'Boro', didn't you?

3 points gained; 1 point proved.

I'm sure Maguire and Southbank cheered the 2 Boro goals; yet unless I'm mistaken, football is a 90 minute game, not a 25 minute game, and as I said (ignoring the puerile edit from Maguire of my post) individually and collectively we had the better team out there yesterday.

Personally I thought that Downing was totally anonymous in the second half, whilst notwithstanding Yakubu's speed to get to the ball first for his goal and the fact he didn't give up all game (unlike Viduka who went AWOL for most of the second half - bar the offside(!!) and Sonks mistake) I thought our 2 central defenders dealt with him very well indeed.

Blind faith? Nah - just faith.

We mentioned this is the bar yesterday and wondered how long it would take for you to post something like this. Well done for holding out so long.

If you actually read the thread properly Mr A. at no point has anybody said that Boro were a better team than us, just that they have some better players - which they do. We also have some better players than them.

On the day, our team and our better players out shone their team and better players and got the deserved result.

So yes, 3 points gained but no point proved.

Whatever.

I also bet that at 2 down you were thinking "Can't WAIT to post told you so"....

I'm so sorry that the team showed you and the rest of the doom-mongers that they have the quality, team spirit and determination to come back from a 2 goal defecit and win at this level.

Bar 1 player on show yesterday, that was the same team that played for most of last season; indeed, 9 started against Plymouth last season...YET, as one of the chief doom-mongers pointed out, Middlesboro were UEFA Cup Finalists last season and STILL we won.

Do try to enjoy the rest of the season......

Again, if you actually look back at this thread and others. You will see that I predicted we would win yesterday.

As I have said and will say again, Boro do have some better players than us, as do other clubs in this division. At no point have I said that Boro were a better team. Better players does not automatically equal a better team for reasons you have mentioned ie. team spirit and determination.

We have this is bucketloads and more than makes up for some deficiencies in our play as seen by the excellent come back yesterday.

Don't you just love that assumption that a supporter would rather be proved a little bit right on a tiny part of his assessment and see Reading lose, just so he can say "told you so" to the one-eyed RTG?

No actually.

Mr Angry, for the sake of public order, i'm glad you don't sit where we sit.

It took about ten minutes for the first "you're rubbish Kitson"shout from the stupid bitch sat behind us. At least I didn't hear the usual "you should go back to stacking shelves" shout that we heard at virtually every game last season

This is at a young Reading player, top scorer last year making his debut in the Premier League. These people just do not deserve to see the sort of football we've been playing over the last year.

I would love to pour a vat of boiling oil over her, what do you think my chances are of sneaking one past the stewards?

Simple solution schards. Turn round and call them a cnut. Problem solved.

 What Schards' forgets EVERY time he has a go, is that we have to sit in these sits for the whole season. I just tell him to ignore them. Thankfully, yesterday, with the increase in volume from the fans for a high percentage of the game, we couldn't hear them anyway. They also NEVER clap/cheer/dance to Tom Hark when we score.

Sorry what puerile edit was this? :?

Again (and i'm not sure quite why i'm bothering as you clearly don't have any intention of actually reading anyone's posts) - I never said I wanted Boro to beat us. In fact, I never even said that they would beat us. The fact remains that you're so relentlessly one-eyed in your assessment of our squad that you can't accept that last seasons UEFA cup finalists may have one or two players that could complement our team.

And sorry to deal a blow to your no doubt overblown ego, but I don't actually devote any time thinking about you or your blinkered views when I'm watching my team play. Indeed, the suggestion that I might want Boro players to perform just so I can underline my posts on HNA is possibly even more ridiculous than the rest of your opinions on this thread.

I remain unconvinced that you're not on a wind up.

:D Yes you are correct Mr A! Anyone around Y25 would have heard me going bonkers when the two Boro goals went in, shouting "ave that Mr Angry!" I also went crazy at the ref for wrongly disallowing Viduka's effort towards the end...

Christ, if I'm ever at the point where I'm wanting Reading to lose to prove a point on HNA?, I think it's time to take my own life!

I couldn't have been happier with the result yesterday, it was an excellent come back, and probably only comes second to the Wigan play-off semi-final game, as my favourite match at the Madejski. However, on the basis of yesterday's match, I would still take Downing over Convey. I'm sure most impartial football fans and experts would also take this view.

The "they cheered Boro's goals" WAS a wind up guys; I know you (from off here) better than that!

As for MY opinion for who I rated in the Boro team, well, Arca was frankly terrible wasn't he, so what the fukc do I know!

The first 25 minutes, though we competed, were a footballing lesson for us, but the teams response was simply awesome; it will be interesting to see how many teams come back from 2 goals down to win in the Prem this season.

As for the players highlighted, Schwarzer had a good game for them, Yakuba was a threat all game whereas Viduka was awol for a lot of the second half and whilst Downing was a threat first half he was pretty well marshalled second half by both Murtz and Seol (who worked really well together).

Boateng was having a major battle in the middle with Sids and Harper, and was overdue a card for a late challenge on Seol before he got his yellow late on.

I guess a fair assesment is that at 2-0 they thought they had the game won, whilst we never thought we had it lost.

Augers well for the rest of the season, despite what the pundits are still saying!

Moot point, but I thought only Rigott and Rochembach were booked for 'Boro.
