Hansen and Lawrenson on who will stay up...

by photo_royal » 24 Aug 2006 12:53

On the first day of the seasons motd they both said Sheffield United will be the only team out of the 3 to stay up...

Is it just me or have all the pundits seemed to of favoured Utd at almost everything they predict? Promotion etc

Their reason why they'd stay up is because of Brammal Lane being a hard place to go...

Why wouldn't Mad Stad not be!?

I do ramble but I hate the way Lawrenson smerks as if his opinion is the voice of God

I want to snap his neck

If he has the balls to attend a game at our place, in order to get to the media area he has to walk up a set of newly created stairs to the gantry......and past me.

I will enjoy giving Mr Lawrensen a piece of my mind.

UTD have a history in the premiership, Reading do not. Therefore they get put ahead of us on the scale.

Its stupid, but the only reason i can think of.

Thank God - I enjoyed that one. Hopefully they'll have a decent pundit to go with Hansen this Saturday as well.

Lawrenson said on the Beeb website that he thought Watford had the best chance of the three of staying up. :?

He also said that McCarthy and Roberts would a dangerous enough pairing to get Blackburn into the top 8 :?

I wouldn't get too concerned with Alan 'You never win anything with Kids' Hansen and Mark Lawrenson. Nobody can judge how well we are going to do until at tleast 10 games into the season, but as pundits, it is there job to make prediction even when they have little evidence to back it up.

No offense- but why would you do such a thing? Surely the man is entitled to his opinion. I don't agree with it - you don't agree with it - but it's not like he's defamed us in some way.

I'd pay good money to see you - or Woodcote for that matter - doing that

Of course Sheffield Utd is a hard place to go - there's NO Parking and when we parked in the street 1/2 a mile away last year we were threatened with all sorts of abuse, hence why we aren't going this year!

Makes the Mad Stad an easy place to go.......

Unlike Villa - 3 1/2 hours to get there from Nottingham (60 miles!!)

I can see their reasoning, Brammal Lane saw the home side only lose 3 times as many games as at the Madejski, concede only just over 50% more goals than Reading and score a wapping 75% as many as the Royals which would make them pretty damn formidable you'd think. Except that's worse than Reading, and we're cannon fodder :x .

Last Night on MOTD Gary Linekar said that he thought we'd do quite well and so has Jamie Redknapp. Alan Parjudas thinks watford will stay up.

Didn't Hansen say we'd probably stay up after Villa?

Being fair, this was only taken from his speech after the Watford game, so wasn't a delibrate diss towards us...

Yes, he did "enough about them going forward" was his reason. Lineker agreed.

Our forwards are improving at a frightening pace. Our defence seems to have stayed at just a bit better than Championship level, which realy isn't up to Prem standard. But then we had to expect to sip a few goals, and we still have a non negative GD. If we can keep that the same over the whole season I can't see us going down.

We'll definitely score goals.
