Feell a bit sorry for the guy, but he's a solid Championship player and not good enough at this level really.

We'd have him back if we could afford him - which I suspect we can't which is a shame as I would have enjoyed seeing him play at the Madjeski for us next season.

No Fixed Abode Why do you think Tabb has been playing quite a lot this season? To increase his market value so they can shift him on. That's business.

Whilst I like the dose of cynicism I really don't think even McD would jeopardise our Prem status to flog Tabb for a few hundred K. He played because there was no one better

The beauty of it was, the other midfielders weren't performing, so they knew by putting Tabb in the side for a run of games would see his market value increase. Players who's contracts are nearing an end often make some appearances to get them in the public eye, this is not new. Football is a business these days. Only the very rich clubs can afford to let their first team players rot in the reserves. I'm hearing Gunter could be on his way in the summer, so don't be surprised if Reading are already relegated that he plays a few games. It makes his 'stats' look better in terms of Premier League appearances.

Strikes me as another move with half an eye on likely relegation.

The reason to my mind Tabb has stepped up better this year, is that he is getting better protection from refs at this level. His lack of stature and power is less of a weakness as refs give more fouls for physical challenges in the top flight. In the championship he hasn't received that kind of protection and thus looks exposed in a way Legs did not.

Add to that his contract is coming up. This gives us a chance to cash in a little on his value (which may have increased due to increased exposure) and gives him the chance of a good move.

Likely we will do the same for ledge when his contract nears its end.

Seems a fair move on all sides really.

I can play in the Premier League, but playing and performing are two very different things.

Let's wait till after today's game. BBC Berks will ask Brian if this is true and then we'll know

I am able. I'm not disabled. So my point still stands.

BM has handle this really badly, telling a the media that he likes jay and wants players like him at the club....use him for 12 games playing a donky formation and he worked his nuts off ....then go and say he doesnt want him

i know football is a business and therefore can understand the decision even tho in my opinion it is the wrong one.

stick him in a 4 5 1 and it would change.

But he hasn't said he "doesn't want him" - they're telling him he can go if someone comes in for him aren't they?

He was just on BBCRB, confirmed Brian said to him that he "doesn't need him."

Which means we don't need him or want him RL. Or do you think we're in the habit of telling players we want that they can leave?

Hope he goes to a decent championship club and tears it up as first choice midfielder.

It takes a woman to completely mis-interpret a man's words.
