Good start for him with an early goal.

He may have dipped in form in recent seasons, but he still has it all in my opinion.

I'd have loved to have him back here.

Pepe the Horseman He looks ill.

The same expression of loss of hope and spirit concomitant with an extended period of time spent in the void of Wolverhampton.

Also known as Yam-Yam Mutism.

Good to see that he is still well up to playing at this level and he fitted in immediately on Saturday and was probably a contender for Man of the Match against (to use the cliche) a very good Burnley side.
A shame it was for those other hoops though.

Thing is with Doyle
He may go through months of not scoring, but as a half season loan to get you up he's perfect since he's almost bound to have a decent purple patch when he starts at his new club

Its clear that for Doyle to be able to score and play well, he HAS to wear a blue and white hooped shirt; it gives him his mojo and is his equivalent of a lucky pair of boxers. If he wears an gold shirt, or a green shirt, he reverts to being a pub footballer.

AirRaidSiren
MeMeMe Given the service.... he is far far better than Hunt, Pog and most definitely that waste of money Blackman

Very true, but he has stated a few times he will never go back to a club he's already played for

Presumably this was due to Brendan Rodgers? Forced him to listen to his presentation of the world class model of tactics on the day he was being sold. Doyle must have been chanting never come back in his head as he drove up the m40.

Be sad to see him play against us.

Better than the Pog.. now? No chance. He is past it. Scored today? So what anyone could have rolled that in. He spent most of the rest of the game fouling.

It had to be worth a few £££ that he would have scored against us. I for one had no issue with him celebrating his goal. And why shouldn't he.

Each to their own. I wouldn't have celebrated. Reading were a big club for him and gave him his career. He left us, so there wouldn't be any hard feelings there. I personally would have shown a little bit of respect but understand why others wouldn't worry.

Gone down in my estimation as a player but I doubt he cares about that and it's not compulsory to show respect for your old club. Just think it shows a bit of class.

He made a point of clapping the Reading fans yesterday.

Probably felt a little silly going ballistic after scoring a school-yard bundle-in against the club that made him a star.

Like I said, each to their own.

I think it's respectful not to celebrate, unless of course you hate your old club.

Have no problem with an ex-player celebrating-not sure what Kevin Phillips does, maybe he has to stop and think about whether he ever played for the club he has just scored against.
BTW the chant of "You're just a shit Shane Long" came over loud and clear on TV-I didn't like it being shouted at a player who contributed greatly to our first ever visit to the Premier League.
