Steve Hunt - Please calm down

Thank you for your replies - some agreeing, many disagreeing, some rational and some rather over the top.

For the record I believe that stephen Hunt is turning into another great Coppell discovery and has more than justified his recent run in the team.
Some of his play has been extraordinary and it's good to see him on the score sheet again.

I genuinely think that he is a fair player and does not play with anger (as one quote put it) but more with a raw innocence.

All I am hoping is that he manages to avoid developing a reputation with referee's. It would be a gret shame if such a promising start to his Premiership career was blighted by suspension.

I'll probably get slated again for this but ask yourself whether you really thought the goal celebration was sensible. Warnock was rightly sent off for guesturing a kicking action - the referee on this occasion saw the difference between this and Hunt demolision of the flag. In future, other referees (especially away from home) may not.

Must agree that the goal was extremely well taken and deserves to be remembered on it's own merits.

Sorry - forgot to point out that Hunt appeared to be totally blameless in connection with the Gillespie incident. I hear that Gillespie has asked for a transfer request - sounds like he has lost the plot and maybe Warnock is making a scapegoat of him.

By not reacting at all to the gillespie assault incident , hunty in fact sealed the three points for us . Exemplary behaviour , and deserves nothing but commendation . End of . *credits role up screen*

Fortunately referees will make up their own minds. And I'm sure they won't scour the internet forums of all the premiership teams to find out about the players they will be refereeing.

Hunty has only one booking this season because that is the type of player he is. Referees will react to how a player conducts himself on the pitch, not according to what some mindless chumps post on the boards. He has no reputation. End of.

If only that were true For about 4 successive games after the Chelski game the refs 'had words' with Hunt, for no reason except he was being his usual competitive self (i.e within the rules!)

no? then it did do much to effect him did it. Any dip in his form is more likely to have come from the media frenzy and any feelings of concern/guilt for Cech
