Arrogance two-fold - lack of effort and not playing as a team. Typified everything wrong with the English game.

Gerrard and Rooney's comments are inexcusable, but I'm sure Capello will start them as he tries to fit a formation around what he considers his best 11 players. I thought this man was paid to be a top class coach - anybody can see that Lennon/SWP are NOT world class, and Gerrard is wasted on the left.

We're simply not a team, we're a collection of 11 overpaid, arrogant "footballers" with zero passion for their country and zero work ethic. The sooner they fcuk off home and get laid into by 50 million people, maybe then Rooney will understand why he's being booed by his own fans, tosser.

Have England ever played that bad before ? It must be their worst performance in living memory. Even Graham Taylor's team produced better than that.

What amazed me was that the close control and close skills of the Algerian players was better than anything England's superstars could master. Shameful.

Somebody please tell me I wasn't dreaming of the Eygpt game in Mike Basset England Manager? Capello surely must go at the end of this fiasco? And to think some of these players are on £150k a week, they should be ashamed!

Make all of the tossers spend tonight in one of those corrugated iron shacks with a hole in the ground for a bog and rats running all over them. Perhaps that might snap them back into the real world for just a few moments.

The very least that should happen is that they should be forced to pay every penny that they have earned through being South Africa into South African charity projects.

You rate Johnson after tonight's performance. His positioning tonight made Cummings look good!

They should do but they won't! Some staged sky sports news piece full of smiling kids is most likely!

You can guarantee Capello-o will ban the media from all training sessions leading up to the Slovenia game.

Wow that was beyond dump. David James was good the rest weren't.

Glen Johnson is laughably atrocious, Gerrard out of position and totally ineffective. Lampard not good enough, Rooney the biggest disappointment absolute garbage. John Terry also, utter toss.

Needs to change the system get two natural wide players in, get Heskey out the side and they might scrape a win.

Terry - sloppy, inexcusable misplaced passes, no passion - could have been Paul Terry
Lampard - sorry, was he playing
Rooney - that is the worst performance I've EVER seen from him
Lennon - run, Forrest, run - but he didn't
Gerrard - out of position, out of sorts, out of ideas
SWP - Shite Wing Play

Can't fault James, Cole, Carragher, Johnson or Crouch

Barry - ok, but not the saviour everyone expected
Heskey - no better, but certainly no worse than anyone else - our best striker on the night until Defoe

Disappointed doesn't even go close.

Still - the Germans and Spanish actually lost their games

Beat Slovenia and we're through - I can keep hoping until Wednesday

At least the Spanish and the Germans create chances. We never really looked like scoring, restricted to long range shots which never troubled the Algerian goalkeeper.

Oh also, I have to say I was fairly annoyed at Beckenbauer's words that England play "kick and rush" football. But by gosh, the Kaiser is right.

As has been said, we are one of the least technical countries around. You ever watched any english lads on holiday trying to play the spanish, italians, etc Our touches are shite and theirs are always better, we always lose on pens because we are less technical also.

We need to change our coaching mechanics from the grass roots upwards we are falling a long way behind future generations.
