Jackson Corner Let me get this straight. We have sold our best and most creative player leading goal scorer dead ball specialist. And with the money we have bought in a 33 year old left back from Carlisle United? I have to say that is great business well done to Hammond, BM and SJM hope you spend your cut wisely.

FiNeRaIn Its important not to over-react either way. We need a left back because frankly williams is awful - harte has played at a much higher level and will at least be a threat from set pieces like sig was as well as offering more experience. I'm not too bothered having him there for a season and will not harp on about the sig money in relation to him like people are - he would probably have been signed anyway with the injuries we have. The club didn't plan to lose sig and if anyone thinks we were going to go rash and start spending money in the dying hours of transfer deadline to appease fans and show ambition you are very wrong.
Its not secret I completely disagree with the way the clubs run, I feel ripped off. But I would much rather we had time to weigh up potential signings and spend the money more wisely in January. That said, part of me thinks JM will hope the fans forget about the money so he doesn't have to spend it. Not filled with confidence at all - January will be where Im waiting to see whats really going on and that will influence whether or not I renew my season ticket next year. We've got a massive amount of cash for one player - I expect to see a few million of it invested in 2/3 players to strengthen the squad as a whole.

URZZ This is true, and how much did Doyler go for again?
by URZZ » 01 Sep 2010 03:38
An undisclosed fee means that the amount paid hasn't been made public. This is usually either because the club doesn't want to reveal how much they spent, or because they don't want to reveal the actual transfer fee in case they decide to sell the player on.

Agent Balti It can also mean that the fee isn't initially finite. i.e. £200,000 up front + £50k after so many appearances + £25k after promotion etc.

sandman I'd look at every possible way to get the 4 million, selling the Stadium naming rights, getting... or even god help me raising ST Prices anything that would raise the required money.

I'd really like to know what this actually means. Wouldn't the first step towards "fighting really hard" have been demanding more than £50k for the transfer?
The whole thing went through in less than a day. What exactly did Carlisle that demonstrates how unhappy they were to lose him?

When they offered him a new deal a few weeks ago?
