Any ideas on what the "Substantial Fee" for Legs is?

ZacNaloen Howard on his way to Saints.

Thought this would be on the cards as he was linked with the earlier in the year IIRC

If this happens, which i think it will, how many players will we have who can actually pass a football on the floor?!?!?!? I guess it'll be down to the youngsters which if it works out then great but if not then it's hoof ball all the way! Plus a relegation fight!

Bet he has a cracking couple of games against us, wouldn't be surprised if he scored!

With Long due to leave, i would be inclined to keep him as playing 4-5-1 may be more useful given we will be longless

Squad List

by Forbury Lion » 03 Jun 2011 11:54

As the official site squad list isn't up to date, I thought it might be worth listing out which players we have at the club and adding in any additions/departures.

I've removed Reading Fans Everywhere as that jokes gone on far too long and included every player who had a squad number last season.

1 Adam Federici Goalkeeper
2 Andy Griffin Defender
3
4 Jem Karacan Midfielder
5 Matt Mills Defender
6 Brynjar Gunnarsson Midfielder
7 Jay Tabb Midfielder
8 Mikele Leigertwood* Midfielder (*Club have announced the permanent transfer is agreed & will go though)
9 Shane Long Striker
10 Noel Hunt Striker
11 Jobi McAnuff Midfielder
12 Dave Mooney Striker - Confirmed Departure
13
14 Jimmy Kebe Midfielder
15 Zurab Khizanishvili Defender - Confirmed Departure (End of Loan)
16 Ivar Ingimarsson Defender - Confirmed Departure

17 Michail Antonio Midfielder
18 Simon Church Striker
19 Hal Robson-Kanu Midfielder
20 Brian Howard Midfielder
21 Ben Hamer Goalkeeper
22 Julian Kelly Defender - Confirmed Departure
23 Ian Harte Defender
24 Shaun Cummings Defender
25 Jake Taylor Midfielder
26 Alex Pearce Defender
27 Scott Davies Midfielder - Confirmed Departure
28 Sean Morrison Defender

Wizard Nope. I would keep Brynjar coz if we need someone to come into the side because of injuries or suspensions, at pretty much any position, you know he can come in and do a good job.

Karacan's pretty handy at full back and we've got 3 defensive-minded midfielders in him, Leigertwood and Tabb as it is without Gunnarsson...just seems silly to me to keep him when we could use his and Ivar's wages to bring in the passing midfielder we've been crying out for since Gylfi left. In the same way we didn't really miss Ricky Newman after he left, I'd let Gunnarsson go...better to have someone really good in one position rather than another average in a lot when you have a squad of 20 plus players.

Wasn't Marcus Williams 3?

Danny Joyce and Abdulai Bell-Baggie have also been released.

I hope Howard going will see us look to pick up a quality attacking midfielder who can pass and score (Gylfi style) because otherwise we'll be losing the only midfielder we have who can put his foot on the ball and pick a pass.

Legs isn't bad, but it's all a bit simple from him, not a lot of guile - which is fine in a defensive midfielder.

Lawson is like Karacan, hustle and bustle.

He probably can pick a pass, but so can Karacan. He's better at it than most give him credit for. Certainly now he's more established and he isn't solely responsible for tackling with Ledge helping out.

Svlad Cjelli
brendywendy gives him a chance to persue his coaching badges here with us, while still getting a decent ammount of games at a decent level.
the contract terms should be ok, because we couldnt get another player as adept at playing across the back 4 or midfield, all rolled into one.
if he goes we'll need to buy 4 players!

especially if his deal is a pay as you play contract as some have speculated previously.

not speculation- came from the club itself in a press statement

I'd hope he'd be looking into something on the coaching side. We're looking to build a "dynasty" of managers, he'd be a perfecty candidate to fit into this.

Oh boy, I've literally gone tingly at this suggestion :D

Why do this if you're not going to keep it up to date? There's even a link to another thread with all the relevant info on it.
