Very pleased with this. Relatively low fee, still only 22 but with a wealth of games already under his belt. Seems to be highly rated by the majority of Forest fans.

Always thought he was a prick at Forest. Good player though and better than Cummings.

Good signing although I think Cummings will do fine at RB in prem.

In terms of centre backs to my eyes gorks > pearce....

feds
gunter
pearce
mariappa
harte
kebe
guthrie
karacan(if he is fit) legs(if karacan is not fit)
mcanuff
alfie
pog

my first team for the first couple of games till roberts is off suspension. i havent seen enough of mariappa to decide if he is good enough for the first team, but by the comments on here i assume he is. it would be hard to decide between him and gorkks.

I'd be willing to bet Gorkss and Pearce will start on day 1.

windermere_royal
NR_Royal I just jizzed.

So I'm guessing our team for the first gane will look like this then:

Feds
Gunter
Mariappa
Pearce
Harte
Kebe
Guthrie
Leigertwood
McAnuff
Pogrebnyak
Le Fondre

why would pearce be ahead of Gorkks?

+1. I think these are two fantastic signings. Are we done now? McD said after Wimbledon there was 2 more and "we're done", do we beleive him?

blueroyals Feels like it's all over before it even started. Would love a surprise signing....

On the contrary it is soooooooo nice to have a settled squad and not to have to spend until midnight on 31st August worrying about our best players being gone in the morning.

Also there is still time to strengthen if we have a horrendous first three games.

Actually no. I think we could be getting one more, it'll be a big, but low risk, punt if it happens.

I think that Pearce and Gorkks will start, barring injury of course. I also think that Hunt will start with Pog, and Alfie to come on.

One of the few full backs who I always thought got the better of Kebe and McAnuff. Very solid defender, young but experienced, plenty of improvement left in him.

It's been a good day.

Couldn't believe he's only 22. Great signing!

And that doesn't conclude the summer's signings. Expect at least 2 more.

I don't really want any more signings to be honest. I'm really happy with what we've achieved and I'd rather not do a QPR.

Must tip my hat to Hammond for getting Mariappa and Gunter for these prices. When we've sold this sort of player (upwardly mobile from championship to prem), we've got at least three million for em. Not that it's my money, but I wouldn't like to see us getting rooked.

I've never said I'm in the know, far from it, but we did agree a fee with Palace and also spoke to Clyne's agent. A few people picked up on it that are deemed reliable, so that was good enough for me. You really don't think we had all our eggs in one basket? Not that is matters now. We got the man we wanted originally after it looked like it might not happen. Superb signing!

I have to say I thought this was Forests best player by far, and as such it is very surprising that we managed to get him.

id say its a pretty incredible signing. before last year forest was in the playoff finals and he was their best player. 30+ caps for wales at 22 is pretty good too...
