We will see a new manager in weeks if not days. They will be given significant (if not huge) amounts of money to build a team for the new season.

If your disgust at the treatment of a nice fella who was not delivering the thing he was employed to deliver is so massive then you can, of course, stay at home / go to B&Q / or whatever else will fill your Saturdays.

I will be going to watch Reading FC.

Pepe the Horseman So apparently Brian went to the owners with 5 or 6 signings he wanted over the summer, and they basically told him to do one.

You'll be going to watch a bastardised version of Reading FC that has betrayed it's principles.

Brian's job as Reading manager had barely started.

Now was the time that he was really going to start managing Reading FC. He just didn't get the opportunity at all.

There wasn't alot he could do with the players he had last season. They got us over the line to stay up and then they didn't bother after that. They were weak characters. They needed to be got shot of.

I'm gutted for BMcD. He's such a good bloke.

But we have a good core of players who should have achieved far more (loanees aside).

I do not fear relegation; and i'll back the new manager, whoever that may be, to the hilt. Because as a fan that's all you can do.

It's very odd considering the statement was to build from within (or along those lines). So perhaps the Thai's have re-evaluated and are looking to go-for-broke this year. Time will tell.

A very interesting few weeks ahead. With a new management team comes a fresh approach. Which is very much needed for this football club, management team aside, everything from friendlies to line ups to new signings has been met with a extremely negative response from a proportion of the fanbase.

And don't forget the picnic. That was also met with derision.

Presumably Gravenberch was informed of the change before he signed otherwise he's currently probably like

We will be next season's Charlton. Owners nowhere to be seen. Keep sacking and bringing in clueless managers from abroad who no nothing about the championship.

There is no new money. Money for new players will come from sales. The club statement a few weeks back referred to promotion from within, i.e. academy players. The budget is a shoestring for next season. May also now explain Hammonds departure better.

I think Gravenberch would have known. He looked a bit shifty in the video interview that he gave on the official site. He looked like he already knew that the club would be managed by the Dutch.

Does new Dutch leadership mean a possible permanent move for Ola John?

These latest moves by the Thais mean that they must be ready to spend millions now on this team.

So lets guess how many new signings this summer.

I'm gonna go plus 10. All mysteriously linked to one or two agents.

Every time a new manager comes in they (understandably) use the likes of Gunter, Norwood, McCleary, & Obita as the core of the side. This appears to make sense because they are some of our better players. But I do not think they can improve. They have been part of losing sides for years now, and so long as they provide the basis of the team I do not see how we can do better. There is something indefinable wrong with them--maybe a sort of passionless acceptance of the losing scheme of things. At least Robson-Kanu, of the same ilk, is going.

Is there a single thing to be positive about, really?

RFC deserve all the mocking that's coming their way.
