If the club are considering Poyet, why not just wait until the end of the season?

Looks likely we're going down whoever comes here. Instead of risking loads of compo to tempt Poyet, just wait to see if Brighton get promoted. If they do then it's a no go anyway, If they don't or even don't make the play offs then he'll be knocking on our door when he gets pushed not the other way about. It's not as if there are no other available managers that could do at least as well as Poyet.

Just been looking at NSC and those Brighton fans think they are a massive club don't they, much bigger than Reading.

Truth is they have won no major honours in their history, joined the league around the same time as us, spent most of their time in the third tier of English football and have spent one whole season more than us playing in the top flight.

Deloluded.

TBM
soggy biscuit Can someone register on that Brighton & Massive Albion forum and tell them just how underwhelmed I am at the thought of him becoming our new manager.

Done for ya

Not being funny or anything but the majority of us Reading fans are quite underwhelmed by the news that Poyet is in the running

Why sack a manager who got us to 2 FA Cup Q/Fs, a play off final and win us the Championship and replace him with a bloke who's won League One and turned a team into an average mid-table Championship side (no disrespect)

We'd rather Adkins over Poyet if we had the choice

Wahay! Good work

But they take 20K to every away game don't forget and have a 25 year wait for season tickets as they have such a massive fan base. :D

Eaststandman I have it on good authority that Trevor Senior is going to apply, based on his vast experience with Bridport FC

He's not actually - cos I asked him!!

Do you know Trevor Senior!?! You've never mentioned that before!

Never forget the season where we came 2nd to them in the 3rd tier and drew, what, 10 of the last 11 games?

Their fans were all over here and OAE complaining that we were f'ing them over by not letting them have enough tickets, they wanted more than just the away end, they had a massive following etc.

Then they failed to sell out their standard allocation.

The Brighton fans are still honeymooning in the new stadium and doing OK in the league, they waited a long time for the amex and were on the up when they moved in, gates will slowly drop as they run out of steam. Most of the fans still take umbrellas to the games and try taking them inside the ground. '' remember guys you have a roof now!''
Mackail-Smith was 3.25m....... I'm doubting the potential new man whilst he is probably chatting to Nick (the negotiator) Hammond.

I don't even want Poyet, don't rate him. I would just love to take another manager off Brighton. Weird weird fanbase.

Hello Clippedgull :D hands across the message board divide and all that!

Our esteemed owner was supposed to be flying back from Russia to undertake interviews so perhaps it was an exploratory meeting for both parties and perhaps saving GP a journey. You can understand not wanting to meet at the Madejski but Gatwick airport still has a few people hanging around who might recognise them.

Could just be a way of getting a nice pay rise but would've been better for your play off chances if he had just come out publicly and said thanks but no thanks, got a job to finish at BHA.

Anyway good luck in the play offs and if not see you in the Champ next season.

I notice you didn't dispute the rest of my message.....!
