What relevance does that have then*?
* I'm aware McDermott masterminded our promotion but comparing his sides competitiveness now with Rodgers has nothing to do with that IMO.
Utterly different expectations. Rodgers expected to consolidate mid-table in Championship before a strong promotion push. McDermott expected to compete to keep us in the PL. Rodgers actually took us into a Championship relegation fight. McDermott has us in the PL relegation fight most of us expected, just with far more ineptitude than most of us expected. McDermott has also proved he can achieve good things here, Rodgers didn't. Plus we're getting closer to winning games than under Rodgers and haven't been nearly as humiliated in as many league matches.
Of course McDermott gets more leeway. It's not the same thing in the slightest.
So nothing to do with the league we were in then? Just the level of expectation?

Hoop Blah That interview was, again, quite painful viewing.
I know he has to say something, and needs to keep it positive, but I'm a bit bemused as to why he thought we looked comfortable at the back and most likely to score the only goal during that second half.
It's all desperate stuff really.

Pepe the Horseman Looks like a war's brewing between those that want RFC to stay up at all costs and those who want McDermott to stay at all costs.

Yep, and we are going to give them a dose of 'shock and awe'!

You do realise him going will have the same impact on the season though? I.e. relegation.

Bit of a silly statement to make. Are you saying Brian is the best manager in the world? because there is plenty of BETTER managers being linked with us that could potentially turn it around, im not saying its garenteed but all we can do is try. FACT -McDermott is not doing well in this league.
Like einstien said, that doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results is insanity.

Really, who?
Advocaat for a start.
Then there is Curbishley, Steve bruce and Greame souness, Who have all got far better track records than brian in the premier league.
then you could look at young and up coming managers i.e Gus Poyet or Di Canio..

Lower West Di Canio ?
The guy has a lot to learn as a manager. Would destroy the structure that Reading have created under Mad's tenure.
