Carrico still looked off the pace to me. Glad to see him back but don't get why everyone was giving him 8/10s. Looked absolutely knackered after three minutes.

I think people are just relieved that Carrico actually made it onto the pitch and could put in any sort of decent performance to be honest.

It's rare that I give Reading fans any credit but the chant of "we forgot that you were here" did bring a smile to the face.

Foreign name = instant footballing genius to Reading fans.

Remember when Kalifa Cisse was the new Vieira?

who could forget Marek Matejovsky being "on a different wavelength" to his team mates?

Or when Mass Sarr was better than Weah? (ok maybe that one was a slight exaggeration but you get the point)

I dont think he's quite up to starting games just yet, but what do I know. He broke up play really well and hassled like Karacan but actually put a tackle in instead of just pressuring. Once we had the ball back he didnt welly it up the pitch but played simple passes to his teammates.
He reminds me a bit of Gerrard but I havent seen him shoot yet.

No pressure ay Daniel

In danger of getting a bit English Defence League there.

Carrico looks like a walking red-card to me. Plenty of adapting for him still to do.

He reminds me of Darren Caskey. Should be the best player we have, but isn't and by a long stretch.

Agree with what you said earlier about Carrico, way too early to be calling him our saviour. But it was nice to see him on the pitch and not play badly.

but in those three minutes he did everything a midfielder is supposed to do, and everything ive wanted guthrie to do all season.
run about, put a foot in, retain possession, dribble, pass accurately, make forward passes etc

maybe ive highlighted so much in my head it cos weve seen so little fo it this year from anyone

Ian Royal 4) You happen to know a portuguese reading fan, who happened to be at the match and happened to meet Carrico, who happened to tell him all about his future plans in completely unprofessional manner?

I smell bullshit.

Yes, I know a Portugese reading fan, who spoke to him in Portugese. I'm only going on what he says they spoke about. I'm not saying it's 100% truth, but it would be a pretty pointless lie. He's hardally a guy to make up stories for a laugh.
Also, It's not hard to meet the players. Go for a drink after the game at the hotel, and as you are coming out, so are the players.

Would anyone put a bid in for him? We have him on a reasonably long contract and he's played less than 90 minutes before the club in 4 months. Unless he gets some decent game time (i.e a minimum of 3 starts) in the next 5 games then I can't see him attracting interest.

Actually, I'm passing no judgement on which of them is a liar.

He did shoot yesterday. For a minute I reminisced about Tabb. Ended up in row GG I think.
