PerthPom2013 I've always followed Drenthe ever seeing have a blinder for Feyenoord just before he signed for Real. TBH he should still be playing for a top European team but his bad attitude and lack of discipline are the only reason he's not still playing in La Liga or even the Premier League. I for one am hoping this is true! he is a player that could win us games single handedly and we haven't had this sort of player for quite a while. Just hope he's matured a bit. Still wont believe it until I see it.

I've always found it important to repeat a thread as it is a good way of getting your point across.

wingnut
fruits The bloke is a loose cannon in a word a nutter.Has been a problem everywhere he has been.
Hercules of Alicante couldn´t get rid of him fast enough, drove through eight sets of traffic
lights in Alicante town centre when the police caught up with him he said he did it because he was taking a sick friend
to hospital. Went AWOL a couple of times, refused to play a complete nutter, certainly not the "Reading Way " type of player.

I just hope he doesn´t come.

I guess you'll just have to ask the girls he took to Everton's gym that.

We've already signed Danny Guthrie mate.

FridaysGhost I like this man as a footballer. Managers hate this man as a problem but, whilst he's with them, they use him. What would RFC supporters today say about Robin Friday? I wonder if Drenthe (should he sign) might turn out to be a crowd favourite whilst the Management are tearing their communal hair out. I doubt all these rumours but, in a way, I would love to see it happen.

Good point.

At the time I had no idea Friday was such a off field problem. What he did on the pitch as good enough for me.

If you sign a known problem then you put up with it.

Is this to replace McCleary or Kebe? I'd rather keep the pair of them tbh.

You're all so gullible.

Manufactured Drenthe rumour, sign of our 'ambition'. Deal doesn't come off, sign Dean Whitehead instead, you all eat the p*ssy 'ambition' biscuit the club feeds you, like how ambition we are that we nearly re-signed Sigurdsson.

Reading fans are such a bunch of duvet-wetting twats.

Can he play off the striker? Maybe he isn't replacing any wingers and we are finally getting the Attacking Midfielder we have needed since Gylfi left.

Tbh, Whitehead plays in a completely different position, I just couldn't think of a fairly mediocre winger.....Jimmy Kebe already plays for us :!:

Or maybe just to get HRK to sign a contract extension. After his come and get me pleas he must be worried if nobody has come in and if these rumours are true.

^ yep, and perhaps we can also expect Danny Guthrie to up his game in the 'behaving like a twat' stakes.

Guthrie is a good player for us and there's been no indication he's been anything other than professional since Adkins came in.

Yep. There is still plenty of petulance displayed by DG every week when he is playing, the way he throws his hands up in the air when a colleague makes a hash of controlling a slightly overhit crossfield pass. I am sure he'll get rattled by something again next season and you'll see his true colours shining through, you will see his true colours, and that's why I love you.

Following this news Wayne Bridge must be very nervous. Once bitten, twice shy.
