Why do you think that most clubs adopt a different view (I agree with you on transfer news) in giving regular injury updates?
Surely it is all part of the belonging to a club that the fans are made aware of the welfare of the players?
I see nothing gained by being secretive about it.

Steady on! Against a half decent team we were ripping in to him and wanting to get shot. Now he's scored a couple of goals in one game, he's suddenly the bees knees. I love how chelsea fans change their minds every 5 minutes.
