Brian, meet Danny Guthrie. Remember him?

Could end up being one of the reasons for you getting sacked.

I honestly cannot see him suriving until Monday now. If he is not sacked and left to carry on in his fantasy world where lower league hoof football is expected to keep us up, then Anton And Madejski will be just as to blame.

Unless Anton has been really cynical and lined a replacement up already, it may be too late. If McDermott goes, his management team will go as well, leaving us without anyone in charge.

Or are we in that place already?

I love the guy and I don't want to wish him badly but Reading need to, if not sack him immediately, actively start seeking a replacement now.

It's just not good enough.

I have already said elsewhere we were dire today and we will get relegated even if Jose Morinhio took over this squad - so what is the point of sacking Brian when he is proven at Championship level.

The issue is the PL has moved on a huge amount since we were last there and we have not strengthened sufficiently. Southampton spent 28M in the summer and yet look like relegation fodder. We spent 3m net so what do you all expect?

He will survive until the sunderland game, if we lose that he will be fired, we will draw that game in a bore 0-0 draw meaning he will limp on for another bit - unfortunately we could do with a new manager right now to prepare for January's market - so it might be in our best interests to cheer for sunderland in the next game

he will talk about the group he has, the work ethic, the bond, the team spirit, the fact we were nowehere when he took over etc etc. - the same lines he had been trotting out for a few weeks now in a pretty transparent plea to save his job but the fact is his signings and tactics are not conducive to premier league survival, we have got to think bigger

having said all that, do not fire him unless a capable man is lined up

The clown has now demonstrated he's lost the plot!

He didn't put Guthrie on because he's only played 45 minutes and we need to get him up to speed. Why the f8ck did you put him on the bench then?

Now he's on about his substitutions working and getting us goals last season, as though they should work again. Has he not realised the PL is a whole different ball game?

I think he'll get Tuesday to save his job which is more than they gave Rodgers

You know what? Even if we fire Brian the only thing which might change is things get worse. Why? We have an ownership group which still thinks the best way to do things is on the cheap A new coach will be saddled with the same problems of lack of PL quality players and with the downside of not knowing the players.

Cheers!

According to McDermott he's only fit enough to sit on the bench! And people still have faith in McDermott?

Had Brian not done so well last season, and we’d finished in the play offs but not gone up, and were doing similarly again this season everybody would be happy with Brian. Because, in fact, he did better than that, people want him to be sacked. That doesn’t make much sense to me.

Did anybody seriously expect us to do much better this season than we are now? The best we could hope for is 2 places above where we are now, which with 22 games left is still very much a possibility.

Alternatively, who would have a better chance than Brian of getting us back up next year?
