I know its not coming from 2 goals down, but 10 years ago yesterday we came from behind to beat Oxford 4-3. Tony Rougier came on and scored twice in the last 12 minutes :)

Seeing as it's a statty page, vaguely interesting that we have only played 4 games against teams currently in the Top Half of the table. W2 D1 L1.

If we can manage 1.75 points per game in the next month when all games should be against Top Half teams we'll have done ok.

Maguire Cheers - forgot about the WBA game. Really enjoyed that one although I forget WBA's first goal (I know Chaplow got the second). Was it the same guy? Only remember a back post volley followed by tap in?

Nathan Ellington scored the second one if I remember, after a fairly good save by Stack fell to him.

It appears Chaplow got the first as well (Google)

The second was as I described, a tap-in after stack save Ellington's volley. I think the first might have been a left-footed effort across the keeper and into the far corner.

I sat in the Lower West for the lolz. It wasn't funny.

Was that when Lita scored a second half hat-trick? Seem to remember him scoring a scoring a lovely little chip.

Yeah Lita hatrick. The 20=odd yard finish was at the end of a decent move.

Yeah, slid to recieve the ball, realised he was going to slide off with it, so did his best to place the ball on the line. As he slid away an Oxford player picked it up and rolled it into the empty net.

Would be about right as there was some serious flooding at end October 2000 in a number of counties.

Ah, the West Brom game and Lita's hat trick. It's given a big mention in Adrian Chiles's book about being a West Brom supporter. He planned to go so Graham Le Saux said he would like to go as well. Adrian agreed on two conditions: they went in the away end and not into corporate and Graham paid for his own ticket. Turned out Le Saux couldn't remember the last time he'd paid to go to a football match and was worried about the way the supporters would treat him (they treated him well). They went with a bunch of other away supporters and Adrian remembers one seeing the Jazz Club and saying "A jazz club? C***s!"

After the first half with a healthy 2-0 lead Adrian asked Graham who he thought would win. Graham simply gave a chilling reply of "whoever scores the next goal". In the second half Adrian said they got completely battered with the home crowd cheerfully and loudly telling them all "that's why you're going down". They did.

Duh, me too :| . I thought I had logged every detail of the 05/06 season in my head for posterity, pushing out other less important info (mother's birthday, my postcode etc.). Apparently not!

3 come-from-2-behind wins for me then. I was also there for the 0-3/3-3 with Crewe, same day that England got a 0-0 in Rome to qualify for the world cup. Any data on lose-from-2-up stats, Strappers? I can recall Sheff Wed away in 02/03 and Posh away last season.

Just out of interest we have also come back to draw after being 2 goals behind on 13 occasiosn, as well as coming from 3 goals behind to draw twice, (11/10/97 Crewe (H) and bizarrely 11/10/86 Sheff Utd (A)).

Phew, I'm going for a lie down ......

Have you got the times of our 3 goals scored away at Sheff Utd when we drew 3-3 please?

David Frain (15), Mark Dempsey (27) and Peter Beagrie (47) put then 3-0up. We then replied through Trevor Senior (61), Martin Hicks (61) and an OG by Jef Eckhardt on (65) levelled for us.

07-Mar-10 Aston Villa (H) FAC6 lost 2-4 after being 2-0 up
19-Sep-09 Peterborough Utd (A) LCh lost 2-3 from being 2-0 up
11-Jan-03 Sheffield Wed (A) D1 lost 2-3 from being 2-0 up
03-May-97 Manchester City (A) D1 lost 2-3 from being 2-0 up
20-Oct-87 Barnsley (A) D2 lost 2-5 fom being 2-0 up
13-Sep-86 Leeds Utd (A) lost 2-3 from 2-0 up

Anyone got any more?

Not sure about that - but I do recall a 3-0 up back to 3-3 at EP in 94/95 - I think Port Vale were the visitors that day. If you're still bored, Strap, any chance of looking at whether we've chucked away a 3 goal lead (to draw or lose) on any other occasions in the same time frame as the previous scenarios.

floyd__streete I have been supporting RFC for what feels like 500 years on days like today :| . Discussing with mates after the game, I reckoned this was our first win from 2 goals down since that Boro game. Apart from that - even with my elephant-like memory for games - I can't think of a single other time we've won from 2 goals down that I have witnessed :| . Can you stat-me some relevant data for the past 20 years or so? Ta.

Right, I have no idea whether this list is correct, espeically given my last performance in what should have been a simple quiery to work out our record v Colin, but here goes:

Since the start of the 1984-85 season, I believe we have come back to win from 2 goals or more behind on 8 occasions. (I have a few games where I have missing oppos goal times, but they are generally against non-league opponents so we can probably safely ignore those anyway).

I suppose you want me to list these 8 games?

30-Oct-10 Doncaster Rovers (H) LCh W 4-3 after being 1-3 down
19-Aug-06 Middlesbrough (H) PL W 3-2 after being 0-2 down
17-Jan-06 West Brom Albion (H) FAC3r W 3-2 (aet) after being 0-2 down
02-May-92 Wigan Athletic (H) D3 W 3-2 after being 0-2 down
13-May-89 Chesterfield (A) D3 W 4-2 after being 0-2 down
17-Feb-87 Huddersfield (H) D2 W 3-2 after being 0-2 down
08-Apr-86 Wolves (A) D3 W 3-2 after being 0-2 down
21-Dec-85 Plymouth Argyle (H) W 4-3 after being 0-3 down

Just out of interest we have also come back to draw after being 2 goals behind on 13 occasiosn, as well as coming from 3 goals behind to draw twice, (11/10/97 Crewe (H) and bizarrely 11/10/86 Sheff Utd (A)).

I know I was at the games in bold. Can't remember Wigan in 92 though. Def NOT at Chesterfield as I was playing cricket. Even had the vid of the Sheff Utd 3-3 game where we scored 3 in 8 minutes. Shame some cnut nicked it.

Indeed - we went 3-0 up in the first half and I remember Shaka sprinting from his goal to join in the celebrations for the 3rd as if we'd just scored a last minute winner in the cup final!!

There was a game at home to Brighton in 1963 when we lost 5-4 but I can't remember the exact sequence of goals, all I can recall is that we threw the game away.
BTW Floyd and Mags there's no hope for you two if you can't remember a game from about 4 years ago-I thought it was just we oldies that had poor short term memory.
