floyd__streete I went to Swindon vs Oxford at the County Ground a decade or so ago. 1,200 Oxford fans for their cup final :|

To be fair, they've sold out their 3,000 allocation for this one. Though demand for the Football Special train is looking underwhelming.

First Great Western has sold 180 tickets to Oxford United supporters for their special football service to Swindon for the League 2 clash on Sunday.

The train, which has 560 seats, will leave Oxford at 11.23am arriving in Swindon at 11.55am. Kick-off is at 1pm.

The return train will leave Swindon at 15.40pm arriving back in Oxford at 16.11pm. Tickets will cost £9 for adults and £4.50 for children (age 5 to 15). There are no further reductions or seat reservations.

Supporters are advised that no refreshments will be available and no alchohol will be available or be allowed to be taken on either train.

I thought they'd stopped doing football specials.

Ian Royal It'd be funny if it was done with paint, or something that doesn't actually involve damaging the pitch seriously.

Would be hilarious... but burning it into the pitch is plain wrong...

I wonder if the game will go ahead?

Football 'local rivalry', one of the most one-eyed, inbred facets to our game. Hating people because they come from a nearby town? All very forced really, just typical of the insecure human species desire to manufacture tribalism. Tbh, there are no other sets of supporters I hold in more disdain than Reading fans anyway - I'd quite like to throw coins and spit at our own supporters.

pretty l0lz game. Swindon played better football, Oxford came to get them on the break. Alot of mouth from Swindon fans but they all seemed to hide away. Was a couple of skirmishs before the game what i saw. But still l0lz

G'point

when living outside of this sceptred isle, I had a soft spot for our local rivals, and always looked out for their results

The highlight being Maurice Evans day at Wembley

Some people take it too far I'd agree but surely it's mainly just light hearted banter between colleagues/mates who support a different side than you?

Deep down you both know you're as tragic as each other of course.

Absolute LOLs

Lets all walk around really quietly hoping the locals don't spot us, until we get near the Police and then pretend we're in the football factory

Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere. Oxford 2 Swindon 0 in the PJT tonight. Oxford Mail reports fun and games between 5 'O' and Swindon fans up the Botley Road before game.

Sorry I know I shouldn't but is up the botley road a euphemism?

There were certainly enormous numbers of police in Oxford City Centre from about 2pm Tuesday (more than I have ever seen in Reading town centre before a game). Probably had to justify their presence by making up some incidents.
